For value-for-money, le Café des Épices has been the best restaurant where we ate during our stay in Marrakech. The place is informal but the service is pretty good, despite the crowd. And prices are cheap. Most of the tables offer a nice view over...More

It's a touristic and occidentalized place to go. It's the same of Nomad and Le Jardin. Very clean and beautiful with a great view to place des epices. It's nice to have a coffee or a drink. A little pricey.

Easy and casual ... and busy ... well worth the visit. The rooftop restaurant overlooking the Medina was authentic and prices were quite fair. We will go back on our next trip to Marrakech.

When you need a rest after the crowded Medina, have a nice cup of tea with an excellent view over the souk.

We wanted to go there when we planned our trip but we also knew we would get lost in the heart of the Medina. We found it by hazard and were glad it was like that. Went there for a mint tea, which is excellent...More

Roof top restaurant with local Moroccan delicacies, very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. Tagine are of course favoured dishes and recommended. .

Description
In the heart of the Medina and Souks of Marrakech lies the Rahba Kedima spice square, where old women gather to pound henna for traditional tattoos and sell hand knitted hats, while seasoned vendors run the surrounding spice stores. Within this setting is the now famed Cafe des Epices, the perfect meeting place and rest stop from the heat and commotion of the souks. The inexpensive menu is focused on the simple and fresh, offering teas and coffee, freshly made juices, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The design is correspondingly simple: deliberately paired down and basic in order to offer a peaceful resting place after the visual overload of the Souks. Built over 3 floors, the top terrace offers great views over the square and surrounding Medina, the non-smoking 2nd floor salon is a great place to lounge and the ground floor and outdoor tables are fantastic places from which to watch the colourful comings and goings of the spice square market. Open daily from 9am to 11pm
