Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An ABSOLUTE must when you are in the city! Very old, very local cafe that spills down the side of the mountain looking out over the ocean and to Spain across the waters. Snag a chair - you might have to search, get mint tea...(ideally many glasses) carried in trays holding 10-15 glasses and get msemmen with honey! Sip tea, watch the ocean, and watch the crowds of families that come in the afternoon! Can't wait to go back!More

Located atop a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Although the place has quite a history and is known to serve The Beatles and William Burroughs, it wasn’t as great as I thought. Either way, it’s a great way to enjoy a mint tea.

Dirty and over rated. A nice view if you like dirty tables overlooking the sea. Not a place for a couple of women. Clouds of choking weed smoke. No menu but apparently they serve food. Not a place I’d revisit.

We saw this cafe in the top 10 things to do in Tangier. Really??? If I could give it 0 stars I would. The whole place is filthy, the toilets are disgusting, a health hazard! They had no diet drinks, no sparking water, I wouldn't...risk the food. The views are not even that great, better from outside the cafe. Don't go here, honestly in any other country it would be closed down by the health inspectors.More

Didn’t have food coz they said they weren’t serving til later but I did see locals having food. Service was awful. Rude, uninterested staff. Had an orange juice which was watered down. It was filthy too. The only reason to visit are because the views...were amazing. Would never go again. Rubbish experience.More

We were anxious to try this place after reading about its location overlooking the sea and its history in Tanger. We were very disappointed. It was crowded and hot. There were not enough umbrellas to cover all of the tables so the choice was to...sit at the back with the flies, wasps and noise of the kitchen or in the baking hot direct sun in order to get the view we had hoped for. The tables and chairs are cheap plastic. We were expecting a bit more given the popularity of the place. Service was slow and not super friendly. It seemed that everyone was annoyed to be there - staff and customers. Don't waste you time or money here. There are better options.More

A wonderful view, but don't come to order lunch. If you want to eat here, bring a picnic. We arrived at lunchtime, and settled into seats on the terrace. Fifteen minutes passed before we could order drinks. Another fifteen miuted later, we had to order...lunch (the drinks still hadn't arrived). Another wait of fifteen minutes, and bread and olives arrived. After this, it went downhill. We waited an hour without food, so i went and complained. A few minutes later, it arrived. Two of the three dishes were good - mine (chicken skewers) wasn't. The chicken had never seen a skewer - instead, it was a chicken breast which had been (very lightly) grilled, then cut into pieces. It gets one star, and that's only for the view.More

Very old place, nice views to the sea. Build in terracces with old stone stairs, which can be a bit tricky/dangerous to walk in. I think it could be a cheap place too, but we did not check the prices ended up ordering non-alcoholic mojitos...(there is NO alcohol served in restaurants in Morocco!), and the waiter asked also if we want some Moroccan sweets (my family did not quite understand and said yes); those biscuits were not complimentary as in many places such small snacks often are, but extra charged. 4 non-alcoholic mojitos (they were good!) and 3 portions of local biscuits was 270dirhams (27eur).More

Mt he views are great. Me and some friends went for a tea. For three it cost 60 MAD. More expensive than other places but worth it for the great view and breeze. Staff was friendly and tea was served fast.

Great view of the sea, I would recommend to go during day time or sunset as after dark the street is very dark and seem a bit unsafe if you are by yourself.

Great view but the experience is to be improved. Plastic chairs were wet and dirty we had to clean before sitting. Only one old server and he requested the money right away.

This place is ruined by its management. Me and my husband waited for a table for like 30 min until one was available, and we sat ourselves. And then waited another 30 min for a waiter and no one showed up. I’m pregnant so I...needed to use the restroom and I couldn’t because the seat had all pee on it. Super dirty place. I feel sad that we couldn’t enjoy the perfect view!More
