Located in a former Palace within the Médina of the old city in Tunis, this is one of the grandest restaurant around. High ceiling and historical murals greet you as you walk in. The waiters are highly trained and professional, they have an impressive list of local and international dishes (I highly recommend their couscous and grilled fish with Tunisian... More

This place was a fantastic venue , full of history and traditional Tunisian architecture / decor. The food is gorgeous , loved it all , tried it all, ate it all!!! Definitely a place to go but be careful in booking as apparently it's booked weeks in advance If in Tunis then check it out

I was brought here by one of my clients for a business dinner. The location and ambience was fantastic, I would say this was a don't miss dinner venue (make sure to book). I had the Brik followed by the couscous and it was all great and washed down with some nice local red wine. We also had the cream... More

Great tunisian restaurant. Full experience lf decor music and food. I am not giving 5 stars because it is very difficult to find and we had to ask 3 people.

A great restaurant that is more of an experience than just a lovely meal. Highly recommend the couscous (their three versions: lamb, fish and vegetables) suits all tastes, and tea at the end with a bit of a sweet square is the perfect ending. Well worth a visit.

Savored our "Farewell to Tunisia" dinner at this magnificent restaurant. Overall ambience feels "fancy" yet gracious staff are most welcoming. All reviewers' superlatives for Dar El Jeld are accurate. Tunisian fare is exceptional - loved grilled shrimp, couscous and to-die-for sorbet.

Whenever I feel like eating Couscous with mutton like the one my mother used to make, I go with my little family to Dar El Jeld restaurant. There, you really taste the true and traditional Tunisian dishes as our grand mothers used to prepare them. The atmosphere is really nice and waiters are offering great service. It is a pity... The place is nice and the staff are friendly and professional. I enjoyed the food even though I didn't try one of the traditional Tunisian dishes.

This restaurant has a lovely, sedate atmosphere, excellent food, friendly service. The maitre d' was happy to answer our questions in English. One of the wait staff offered to take our photo without even being asked. Their one vegan dish, cous cous with vegetables, is tasty. Tunisian wine by the glass by the glass.

Thank trijbits
