For coffee and pastries or even a salty snack (Pasteleria Salgada) there is probably no better place to go in Praia than the 'Pão Quente', the 'Hot Bread', by now a chain in various places of the city and elsewhere on the island. In comparison...More

This is a great place for quick small foods, pastries and beverages. Items can be take out, or one can sit and enjoy them in the cafe area. Quick service when I was last there as well.

Best coffee and fresh bread. They serve sandwiches and sweets of different types. This is a great snack place to go to in the afternoon

Excellent place to grab a quick bite: pastry or sandwich. It has good quality bakery products, which is a fresh surprise in Praia!!!! Staff is helpful, even thought it takes long to get your order.

I love their pastries. Since I do not speak well portuguese, it is always a surprise to order something and discover what it is later on. Kudos to the egg-tart!

Probably ok if you desperatelly miss western style bread and danish, but rather uninspiring display for someone used to nice French boulangeries. I found the products similar in quality to what you find at other local bakeries in Praia

There are a lot of these bakeries arround the town. They have a good assortment of pastries and bread and also light meals. Perfect if you are in a hurry.
