Have lived in Gabon for 2 years and eaten in quite a few Libreville and other Gabonese restaurants, am judging Le Comptoir against it peers. On arrival we where quickly seated and menus arrived. The four of us where in the inside restaurant, it is very well laid out, plenty of space on and between the tables. Everything gleamed, very... More
We ate here on a recent business trip to Libreville. This is an impressively designed restaurant and the expectations were correspondingly high. The service is immaculate and the menu builds up the expectations even higher. Unfortunately the food itself was uninspiring and whilst the menu promised culinary delights, the dishes themselves lacked passion and execution. Libreville has some truly wonderful... More
I admit I have not been to all of Libreville high end dining, but I don't need to because I've found my favorite restaurant in town. Yes, it's expensive, but this is an expensive city...but the price is worth it. I've twice had the beef tartare and it's the best I've ever had..ever. Atmosphere is astounding and the service is... One of the most beautiful restaurantes in Libreville! Over price, but have a good service and the food has a great apresentation! Few options on the menu.
Fantastic. Lovely setting, good food. Close to the Meridien (Re-Ndama). No comments. I cannot judge the rates because it was a freeby, but the food and staff were brilliant
Very pricy! taste is average. Decor is great. Probably too cold in the dining room area. Great cocktail.... too many to choose from.
Really good restaurant with really good food. Considered within the top ranking in Gabon. Service is good and for local standards high. Make sure that you bring enough money. Starter is 30-40 USD.
Rising like the Phoenix from the surrounding dilapidations of Libreville, the Le Comptoir seems like a welcome addition to the city’s limited selection of fine dining experiences. Oozing plenty of style and sophistication the decor is a heavenly marriage between African decadence and Mediterranean suave and this makes the Le Comptoir easily the best looking restaurant in Libreville. On arrival... More
If this restaurant were a footballer it would be the Arsenal winger Theo Walcott; when it really turns it on then it delivers an exceptional end product with perfect timing, but is also prone to disappoint on several basic fronts, and on a regular basis. Normally I don't go to restaurants on successive nights but I made an exception for... More
