Knowledgeable wait staff. Tons of quirky wall and ceiling hangings. Great food. My husband and I shared a Kabob. It had Kudu, Springbok, Zebra, Oryx and Crocodile. It was delicious. My in-laws had a smaller Kabob without Crocodile or Zebra. There's came with a "Tot of Wit Bits" which we later discovered was a ramekin of cooked off white wine... More

This is your go-to destination for game meat in the whole of Namibia! That is, if you do not have the chance to get out in the bush yourself. Joe's Beer House has a very characteristic look to it. A mix of african, german and portuguese decorations hang from literally every corner of the walls. The suffused lights, the clatter... More

This is the place. Get reservations but we slipped in without them. Plan on eating family style. Great beer selection and the food is very good. Had the Oryx steak, which was great

Though the menu is vast, the food was mediocre at best. Ingredients and preparation were not as described in the menus (or by the disinterested waiter). The service was painfully slow, drinks lukewarm, and the clientele almost 100% white. Our seats were on wobbly wooden benches, so the slow service was compounded by a sore back and backside. Our twosome... More

Both the food and service we experienced here were the best we had in Joe's Beer House. Extensive food menu with a good variety of price options. The wine list is vast and a little over facing, to be honest. They have a huge stock! Their attention to detail is amazing and every member of staff was a pleasure to... More

Great place to just hangout. Menu is loaded with local foods and meets like various types of antelope and crocodile. Had the Bush Fire which was three types of Antelope and it was great. Atmosphere is relaxed. A must do if in Windhoek.

Authentic African fare is what is on the menu. We had the Bushmans plate and it didn't disappoint - well they were out of crocodile so we got Oryx instead. Relaxed come as you are atmosphere. We are outside and there was a roaring fire in the middle of the space. Even if you are not an adventurous diner...there is... More

Well, it is just a must to go to Joe's when you are in Windhoek. The Oryx filet was the best meal I had during our stay in Namibia. The atmosphere is also very special! The bet way to say good bye to Africa before leaving

We stop there at least once on every trip to Namibia and travel there a couple of times a year. Make reservations for the tables around the "Boma" fire pit.
