Balmaya has been in Freetown for decades. Excellent, inexpensive food, spotlessly clean with friendly service. The cafe is situated next to a lovely craft shop.

I use this restaurant at least once a week - good African dishes, great salads and reliable burgers (beef, chicken and shrimp!). Staff are friendly and service is efficient. Recommended

Went out there for a friday happy hour drink up . Though it was after 7 pm , we had a warm welcome and reception was quite okay. Did not eat anything ...so can not comment on food quality or taste.

Loved the masks and arts, they have very unusual things and work taking a look at. Go there if you are interested in African Art.

Friendly staff, nice outdoor location, usually with a breeze. Plantain chips make a good snack while waiting for your order to arrive. Western food as well as local dishes. The service is good and prices reasonable.
