The first time I ate at the Brookville Hotel was in 1975 in Brookville, Ks. Recently ate there again and was not disappointed. The food is very good. It is nice that the only choice I had to make was what to drink. Definitely not a place to miss in Abilene KS

Family style dinning of fried chicken and all of the fixings! Creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. Ice cream for dessert!

Okay, so the place has been around forever and gets awesome reviews. But for $16 a person, I was expecting real mashed potatoes. Also when the waitress tells you the drink options, she doesn't mention they are on top of the $16. $2 for every coffee, lemonade, etc . Everything else tasted very good.

I was in Abilene for a conference. I had family members who had been there so was excited to try it. We were not disappointed. We made a early early evening reservation. We were seated immediately. Our waitress introduced herself, explained the FAMILY STYLE servings and brought us out drinks followed by relishes ie. cottage cheese, coleslaw, bread n butter... More

I have been coming to this place for 35 years. I have been to the original location and the location where they moved in 1999. There is no menu. They simply sell Fried chicken dinners. They start with peaches , apple rings , Bread and butter pickles and cottage cheese. They then bring out biscuits, fried chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes,... More

We loved it! The only decision you make is what to drink because they serve fried chicken and that's it.

Visited the Brookville Hotel based on a recommendation from a friend. It is somewhat visible from the interstate but it is set back over the crest of the hill from the access road, just so you know. The "hotel" is a replica of a nearby original restaurant from the late 1800's with the dining areas in period style. Anyway, the... More

This is a very historic place and a definite must stop when you are in Abilene. It was originally a hotel with a dining room ( hotel closed in 1972 ) and now operates as a restaurant. Reservations are suggested as it gets very busy. There is NO MENU, it is Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Slaw, and Vanilla Ice... More

The place has wonderful, along with tragic history. The Abilene location is the new address of the historical Brookville Hotel that was located in Brookville, KS. Only part of the old Brookville Hotel remains in a remodeled building. There is a little bit of a wait to be seated to eat, depending upon the day of the week you visit.... More
