This is my second time to buy pineapple tarts at Chia Te. The tarts are yummy and you will find pineapple inside. Their strawberry tarts are yummy too. Their longan muffin is also very famous. Unfortunately, this time I went too early , the cake was not yet ready . Ma be next time.

Chia Te, the one and only shop. If you think of pineapple pastry and many more Taiwanese pastry no matter for fulfill you stomach or grab it for souvenir, I recommend Chia Te. Mostly everyday, there will be a long queue in front of the shop, that shows how famous this shop is even for local and tourists. The shop... More

In Taiwan, you will be spoilt for choices when come to pineapple tarts. This is like the nation's pride and they come in different acidic levels of pineapple fillings. To me, a good pineapple tart must have good pineapple filling; one that is not too sweet, neither too sour. This has to be encapsulated in the perfect crust. Chia Te... More

This is my second visit to this place; the first back in 2012. All these years of eating pineapple tarts, nothing can compare to what Chia Te Bakery has to offer when it comes to taste. Place was overrun by Mainland China tourists that were buying by the cartons during closing hours during my last visit. I've timed it to... More

Went here because a friend goes crazy over their pineapple cakes. Visit during early evenings to avoid then lines. My friend bought 14 boxes of 20pcs for his own eating. The staffed packed them for him in one huge box for easy transport. 2 lines..one for cash and another for credit card (additional charge)

Visited mid afternoon. Took bike across the city. Easy to find, modest queue. Worth a visit to fetch your pineapple cakes!

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2016

Went in Sep 2016. Long queue, need to queue 30-45mins outside before entering the store. The salted egg yoke pastries all sold out by noon. Traditional pineapple pastry standard has dropped and price increased. Pastry skin still thin and nice. But pineapple fillings is sweet with hardly any pineapple taste. Realised that they had mixed in White Gourd with the... More

We recommend this shop. Pineapple cakes are very without palm oil and preservative. You have a large choice of cakes and it is one of the most famous shop for pineapple cakes in Taipei
