I have visited this small, friendly, traditional pub many times over the years and always found it to be excellent in all aspects.
Having eaten from their delicious Thai menu on a couple of occasions,, I felt it time to try their British fayre.
The "Full Monty" Breakfast at 319 baht did not disappoint.
Well-cooked, quality ingredients, served on a huge, inviting plate - the price included juice (or tea or coffee) and toast.
It was nice to be served perfectly cooked fried eggs for a change!
Highly recommended !
The bar serves excellent beer.
Their draft Guinness is particularly good.
With non of the usual Soi 4 hassle, the bar is a haven away the often noisy madness outside.
English managed, it's clear the service staff are enthusiastic, well trained and naturals at their job.
And finally, the venue has the cleanest, most well presented gents toilets I've ever had the pleasure to visit in Bangkok.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
PRO TIP: "Happy Hour" runs from 9am until 8pm each evening, where an assortment of draft beers start from only 100 baht a pint.

Briiiant place, Great Food, Lovely, I would recommend it to any one, The Western Owner was a Top Bloke, But more important the Thai Female staff were exceptional, and could speak good English, Food was amazing, I got hooked on Liver and Onions, with Gravy and Mashed Potato in the heart of Bangkok. Going back next April. Location,,, Right in the center. One Million percent rating. !

Found this little gem on trip advisor so decided to give it a go and so glad we did. Hubby had Cornish pasty and declared it one of the best he ever had. I had small meatballs with Bolognese sauce and cheese and it was delicious, melt in the mouth. A great little pub with good food, cold beer, music and reasonable prices. A must if you are in the neighbourhood😁

I too also had terrible food here. After reading reviews, I visited this place to eat and have drinks with friends. The drinks were ok, but the service was not good. We put it down to the language barrier and ignorance of some staff. We all ordered (as advertised proper English food) but when it came out I was in total disbelief and shocked that they could actually serve food like this. The food was lost on our huge plates plus it was overcooked and blackened, well totally cremated to be honest and certainly not edible. When trying to cut into it, I soon found out it was pretty disgusting too. I've eaten at many places all around thailand from north to south and this is one of those places that tops the most revolting list. I was absolutely shocked when I saw the kitchen upstairs, it was the most filthy, dirty and totally unhygienic kitchen I have seen. It was pretty obvious all food being served was infact all precooked and then just microwaved after observing staff constantly putting a variety of not normally microwaved dishes of food into the 1 of 8 plus microwaves (that is the ones I could count). This place needs to be seriously avoided when visiting bangkok, if you do eat here please view the kitchens first. If that doesn't put you off the food certainly will. The owners need to seriously sort this hell hole out before someone takes seriously ill.

First time back to Bangkok since covid was happy to see this place still going had the half monty breakfast breakfast seemed ok not as good as before. Just my personal opinion the coffee wasn't that good again my opinion had to request milk as they left it at the bar. The waitress was very dizzy not really paying attention she was more interested in laughing and joking with other customers which is part of the job for sure but. Seemed to forget there was other customers waiting and had requests
I always enjoyed the breakfast in this place in the past but left this time very disappointed

Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. Great value for money too. We picked Chequers because of the huge range of food on offer which satisfied the hungry adults looking for differing cuisines. They staff were great, owner was lovely and the drinks were fab. Would definitely recommend

Quaint little place and we stopped in for an evening drink as it looked a bit quieter than the larger pubs with pool tables. Some of the meals going to other tables looked good and reminded me of Enlgand. I guess thats the point!
Will try and go back for a meal.

Nice cozy little place in amongst the madness all around.
Good to get some bearings and drop in for a nice pint in a friendly pub where the music isn't turned to the max and people are actually making conversation.
Ordered a toasted ham and cheese which wasn't the best at all, but overall enjoyed my hour or so here relaxing......

Called in for dinner around 5pm. The bar wasn’t busy and my food was delivered quickly.
The Aussie meat pie was delicious. Staff very friendly and prices are very reasonable
Great menu to choose from. Recommended👍

Chequers is a legendary small bar in Bangkok Soi 4. Breakfast can keep you going all day, Thai and Western Menu are all great
Drinks are always on as are many Sports Events, day or night

An oasis of tranquility within the nuttiness of the rest of the street. Just so happens that they had five or six ales in too! What more could an Englishman want so far from home? Polite conversation with lovely people and if you desire a home made Cornish pastie too!

Called in a couple of times on a recent trip to BKK. We had Thai and Western food and it was all excellent. Ice cold beers and plenty of friendly staff as well. The owner Nick was very welcoming as well

Great little oasis sitting in the middle of all that goes on in Soi 4. Nick and his wonderful staff provide excellent service, food and knowledge to all customers. Quite a few regulars in there and I could see why they return. Highly recommended!

I was stopping for a beer and to eat.
Was going to have a burger, but saw a steak and kidney pie on the menu and decided to try it.
It was excellent. The service is fantastic as well.
Highly recommended place for both food, beer. and indeed sports. Shows all the 6 nations.
