I visited here based on a recommendation of a friend that had lived in Bangkok a couple years ago. I LOVED IT. The vibe is very earthy and fits with it's extensive vegan/vegetarian menu. I ordered the iced hibiscus tea and the server kindly asked if I would like it with sugar. I didn't, so I'm very glad he asked.... More

Ethos will never disappoint. Been here too many times and loved every meal. Would recommend the hummus as it is so fresh and delicious. Ethos knows exactly how to please vegan and vegetarian customers with their large, incredible menu. Secret location behind Khao San Road means you are right near the party atmosphere. Great for a meal with friends and... More

They seem to know a lot about health and the menu is an education in itself. Great vegan options, especially the pancakes. Generous helpings - you go away feeling satisfied. Pleasant ambience. You can sit on chairs or on the floor with cushions and low tables. Lovely relaxing music. Free wi fi. Good service. It was a nice surprise to... More

I just came from Pai, newly turned vegetarian almost vegan and was all excited to introduce the whole concept to my parents. So we went to Ethos and my plans of convincing my parents to change to a meat/dairy free diet was shattered. The food was below average, bland... I didn't know it is possible to make a bad Pad... I'm sorry that your experience was less than expected! It's worth mentioning Pad Thai is supposed to be a rather bland dish, which is why it is served with a condiments set containing soy sauce, chili sauce, salt, and sugar. The flavor comes from a light Tamarind sweet and sour sauce. It's Thai tradition but these days many outlets add... More

Absolutely amazing. The food is so good. Portions are more than generous. The music is great. The environment is cool. What else is left?!

The atmosphere is warm, inviting and Burmese run. Worth going for the atmosphere and the extensive menu. I've been back several times with various friends and family visiting us in Bangkok. Only drawback - I recommend the toilet is kept in better state of cleanliness - at all times.

Cosy atmosphere in the morning. The ginger kombucha was nice and the tempeh too. Great sauce. The Tom Ka soup was rather boring in taste, very moderate. Could have added more lemongrass.

A different experience. Found in the by lanes, they have a huge variety in their menu. I loved the hummus and pita. Other items I ordered was the veggie burger (bread was too hard for my liking) and tom yum soup with noodles (this was decent). They have free wifi but during peak hours, they expect you to order for... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
