Even though all of Steve’s cafes are tasty, I recommend visiting Dhevet branch. It is located on the river, and offers amazing sunset views on the river and bridge. Better to book in advance if you want to be here in a sunset hour. The menu is huge, and prices are moderate. You can see lots of dishes which are not usually present in touristic Thai restaurants. You’re supposed to take off your shoes when you enter, which adds more cosiness to the atmosphere. Steve’s quotes are everywhere on the walls and in the menu, which feels like Steve himself is serving you and talking to you. Cocktail recommendation is vodka-lichi. Super great one. And thom yum for food, of course.

I was surprisingly taken to Steve Cafe by one of my best friends as it's one of her and her husband favourite restaurant, very impressed. The location was great, right next to Chao Phraya river, next to the temple. I was not surprised to see many tourists at this restaurant. However, I was a bit disappointed with the service, a bit slow, and it's hot even though we were in the air con room. Also, one of the dishes, Thai southern style, (I forgot) was too spicy, I could not eat. Having said that, I'll give a second chance.

A great spot by the river. Even though it’s quite hot at lunch time, it’s still nice being in the open air. We had the omelette with prawns, fish cakes, fry rice with prawns, morning glory and fermented pork ribs. All were tasty although it did take quite sometime for the food to come. The gelato was also quite nice. We only tried the mango and chocolate chip mint. Service was wonderful and it’s just great watching life happening in the river while we enjoyed our food.

If I could give a zero I would ... Greeted by very tired staff, food was beyond salty and ABSOLUTELY not authentic Thai food and hideously overpriced. The portion size wasn’t enough to feed a cat, and I’m petite lady. It’s a tourist trap AVOID at all costs. Street food is the better option. Only good point is it’s by the river. How on earth it has such good reviews is beyond me, perhaps all from 1st timers to Bangkok but trust me this was a massive disappointment.

This place was recommended by a friend and we did not regret coming at all. It was the best green and red curry we had in all of Thailand, and the crab omelet was delicious. The place itself is very cosy next to the Krabi river. We’ll definitely come back when we come back to Bangkok.

Went out to have dinner with 3 friends. We had excellent meals. I order some vegetable dish and chicken that consisted of a bowl with 2 chicken thighs in soaking in a sauce (looked like a bowl of soup. Next to the water and a beautiful view. The chicken was delicious a good size portion. Given these times where many have concerns about the covid pandemic. The staff wore masks and the outdoor seating had good spacing between the tables.

My family and I came here for dinner based upon a recommendation from a local, and were super pleased with our experience! We have several food limitations between us, and the restaurant was very good in honoring our various limitations. We ordered several dishes to share, and everything was delicious! The menu was pretty big, so it took us a while to decide what to order. My Pad Thai especially was really good! We lingered over our food and essentially closed down the restaurant, but they didn’t hustle us out, which we appreciated.

This was a recommendation from a local member of my team, and one should always trust local knowledge. The food was great and I am told it's genuinely authentic. Sure the service was a tad slow but the quality more than made up for that. The staff were very polite and helpful and it was a great dining experience overall. We did lunch but I can imagine it being a great scenic evening meal venue.

Another trip to Bangkok means another trip up the Chayo Praya Express boat to Steve’s for dinner. A very pleasant setting on the deck, the very impressive Rama VIII bridge in the background. Beautiful food, the lemongrass salad was to die for. Probably our favourite restaurant in Bangkok. Good service and great food.

What a great variety of food to choose from. It’s almost too hard to pick one thing. The food is prepared after you order it so it takes longer then one might expect but the payoff is in the tasting. Service is a little stilted but genuine and friendly. It’s worth the visit to get such a bevy of choices. Not overly complicated atmosphere with the emphasis on the quality of the food.

We decided to enjoy the warm evening and walked to the Cafe. Hard to find as routes are often blocked and it is well hidden. In fact, it is a little alley on raised boards down a cramped and dingy alley. Don't let that put you off. No booking but they squeezed the two of us in. Shoes off and a table by the very busy river. Menu choices were great and I had the Northern Thai Belly Pork curry. It was fantastic, not too spicy not too sweet and extremely tasty. A busy place and worth a visit. Staff extremely helpful. Enjoy the evening as the sun goes down and the local lights go on.

It is very nice to eat here with the family. The atmosphere here is great enough to take your loved one to soak in the waterside atmosphere. I love seeing the children enjoying the food. On their table, there was information on the menu we were eating. And the staff were very helpful to us. Next time, I'll try to have a cold beer with a friend group.

Phenomenal visit to Steve's again tonight. The food quality, service and ambiance are amazing. We had two people in a party of six with allergies and all were catered for fine. Prices are very fair. You cant beat being next to the river enjoying such an evening with friends. Steve, many thanks to you and your team and see you again krub

Really nice Thai restaurant on the river. The food was really good, and the atmosphere on the deck is beautiful. The place is really hard to find as there’s no roads going to the restaurant. But you can stroll through the local fish market and then a temple/school to get to the small street that leads there. One of our favourite restaurants in Bangkok.
