Only found this place by chance and 2 of the 3 nights we were in Chiang Mai we came here! Great food, made the the mistake of ordering something (can't remember what) and asking it for spicy.. It was Thai Spicy and nearly killed me, but still tasted amazing. The staff were more than helpful and although our server didn't... More

Super legit Northern Thai. Expect a wait. Order the BBQ pork! You will not be disappointed. Don't expect the standard Pad Thai spot.

This place is a gem.Food is simply amazing if you enjoy authentic Northern Thai food. Upon leaving tropical down pour staff gave us an umbrella asked if we could return it tomorrow ,how nice & trusting is that we walked to our car & drove past & returned it. Thainess at it's best. Do yourselves a favour n get on... More

The restaurant is somewhat over-rated. The food was not good to my taste, very grease and super spicy. There was a huge rat running around and no body seemed to care. Think before you go especially there is a long wait.

Had dinner here on two consecutive days. Excellent experience both times. Restaurant was packed on both days. Go early or be prepared to wait.

Somewhat difficult to find with no signage, look for the bbq grill out front and typically a lot of guests at the tables. All northern Thai food, we were excited to try some different flavors and figured with how crowded the place was it would be a win. Service was very slow, had to eventually flag down a waiter. Tried... More

After getting my hair done next door, this place piqued my interest since there were so many people. This place had no tourists at all (except me :p) and it seemed like all locals. I ordered the grilled oyster mushrooms with chili, which was simple but really nice! For my main, I got the spicy soup with chicken. I asked... More

We came here twice due to one unique dish - the Stir-Fried Puff Mushrooms. The mushrooms are soft, yet crunchy, with a great earthy taste to complement the very spicy sauce (we ordered it 'mild' the second time and our taste buds were very happy). In addition, they have very good grilled pork shoulder blade fresh from the charcoal grill... More

Unlike ordinary thai restaurant which serves you a plethora of common thai food such as tom yam kung, pad thai and fried rice, you will find non of those at Tong. Rice are limited to steamed or sticky rice and their menu are concentrated on northern/chiangmai food. You will not find red/green curry chicken here but a really good Burmese... More
