Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great find! This little gem was opposite our hotel, The Anantara Chiang Mai, and we thought we'd give it a try after a long tiring day when we didn't want to venture too far and were ready for an early night. Our lovely...waitress, Thunya, made us feel so welcome and looked after us very well. My husband had a starter of bruscetta topped with tomatoes and mozzarella, which was a very generous portion and he enjoyed it immensely! I had a massive Four Seasons pizza, having declined a starter, and even then I couldn't finish it, even though it was delicious. This wasn't a problem at all and it was boxed up for me to take away. My husband had a lovely salmon pasta dish, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Neither of us had room for dessert! Drinks were very reasonably priced and we both had a complimentary limoncello at the end of our meal Would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone looking for quality food!More

Everything we ordered was exceptional. The pizza was savoury and the taste balanced. There was also a very good selection of wines.

Service was good but the food( the main event) was awful. Risotto looked liked rice pudding and was droopy. Talking of droopy my pizza topping slipped off the base as the bread was stale. The calamari was limp. They have loads of pictures of stars...and celebrities that have visited their restaurant over the years but on closer inspection the people look 20 years younger. No doubt this was a great restaurant a long time ago, but now I feel the current owner lacks the ability and or the resources to invest. The toilet did not even have hot water available!More

I'm somewhat reluctant with a negative review, because I don't want to damage anyone's business, and we all know running a restaurant is a difficult job- quality and cost(!) of prime food, staff, guests expectations etc. That's why I give 3 stars. The restaurant was...full, which is a good sign. The staff and the service were impeccable; very friendly and even totally understanding when I complained about a particular dish. The food was mediocre at the best, except an excellent, very tasty truffle cream soup. My point: I cannot believe that the chef himself did the cooking this night, because they served a beef carpaccio so awful, not even a skilled hobby-chef would dare to present it like this. What is a beef carpaccio? It is paper-thin slices of FILET-beef, not overly marinated and certainly not drowned in accompaniments. You have to cut it frozen with a good machine. After that it is arranged and warmed in room temperature. In no case it has to be cold or overly warm. This way the beef develops its enzymes and its typical delicious taste and color, which is medium- to dark red. Summarizing it's a very simple dish, given the chef knows what he's doing which, however, due to the costs of the meat cannot be offered for 400 Baht. What we got was a big layer of parmesan cheese above an even thicker layer of raw mushrooms(??!!) - grrh - and finally two layers of some sort of tasteless, watery rose meat, obviously beef, but for sure NO filet. I didn't want to hurt the peoples feelings, so I started eating, but finishing was impossible. The head waitress accepted my complaints immediately and the dish was finally not charged. Sorry, but I have to add one more issue; salads have to be meticulously cleaned and washed before preparing. My salad Caprese was full of sand. Summarizing, this is a nice restaurant, but it obviously rests on its laurels of the old days. My well intended advice, as a professional myself, reorganize it, reduce the menu significantly (no customer appreciate the offer of 100 different dishes; actually it's annoying) and take care that meticulous standards for every single dish are adhered to. If you want to learn what a perfect beef carpaccio is like, go anonymously as a normal guest to the restaurant 'NORDEN', and enjoy the best carpaccio on the planet. Good luck! p.s. I have no ties to the 'Norden'More

2 of us ordered pizza which was really awful 🍕 inedible, dry stale base with tasteless tomato sauce topping. 1 of us had vegetarian pasta and it tasted like fish! Avoid! Place looks very old and tired.

Piccola Roma Palace is a restaurant that serves authentic Italian cuisine in Chiang Mai. The restaurant was founded in 1991 by an award-winning Italian chef, Angelo Faro, who is also a member of the prestigious Chaine des Rotisseurs. The restaurant has a elegant and cozy...decor, with a spacious indoor seating area and a romantic outdoor garden. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from pasta and pizza to salads and desserts. I ordered the lasagna and the tiramisu, and they were both superb. The lasagna was creamy and cheesy, with a rich meat sauce and homemade pasta. The tiramisu was light and fluffy, with a delicate coffee flavor and mascarpone cream. The service was friendly and professional, and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is located near Charoen Prathet Road, which is easy to access. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try some authentic and delicious Italian food in Chiang MaiMore
