We don't serve fast food at our small, non-airconditioned restaurant where flavour and service are prioritised over interior design and atmosphere. Sandwiches, salads and breakfast dishes along with locally-sourced coffee and fresh fruit for smoothies. Our bagels and baguettes are made by a bakery to our high standards and we make our own yoghurt. Use of high quality ingredients and skillful techniques gives you the taste of fine-dining without the fine-dining price.

One of the best meals we have ever had. The coffee was exceptional, the banana bread was to die for. I’d kill for that recipe! The omelets are made perfectly with extreme attention to detail and flavor. Could not recommend this place more.

Visited here many times. Wonderful food and service. Smoothies, scrambled egg on toast, bagel (actually a roll) with fries, banana bread with butter - all worth coming back for. If mozzies eat YOU for lunch - just avoid sitting outside amongst the flora! 8.30am - 3.00pm (Closed Mondays).

Had read good reviews so I thought I'd pop in for a bit of lunch. Delicious bagel with lovely chicken and avocado and a really fresh side salad. Coffee-wise it was the only Cortado I came across in Chiang Mai and it was good. Expat owner takes a lot of pride in what he serves ! Think it's probably family run.

French toast was average and if you want anything on your toast you have to pay for it, even the maple syrup. In the end we paid more than at other places with way better service and food. What we did like was the orange juice.

Our French Toast serving size is up to two times larger than those at other establishments and the whole dish, bread fully customised for the dish, is made from scratch by us. We've received overwhelmingly positive feedback about it over the years and, since we've sold over 10,000 of them, we're pretty certain your experience is in the minority. Our pricing does not include any toppings because the price of those toppings would have to be included in the base price of the dish. Nothing is ever free. Using your pricing model, customers would have to pay for luxury items like the expensive genuine maple syrup we serve even if they don't want it. Making it an even larger waste is that, for food safety reasons, we'd have to throw anything served and not consumed into the trash.

I visited the hideout after finding it in the lonely planet guide. My partner and I both had an omelette with toast, a smoothie and a Thai iced milk tea. All the ingredients were of high quality and the food was delicious! The only area of improvement is the Thai milk tea was more watery than others I have tried but overall a great little spot!

The owners of the restaurant attach great importance to the quality of the food and that's how it tastes: outstanding! Not much more needs to be said here. We have been there twice and were more than satisfied both times. Wish the owners much success (the owner is Australien)

Great place for late breakfast, early lunch. Friendly & accommodating staff. Food is extremely fresh & tasty & there’s lots of vegan & veg options.
The avocado & egg on Wholemeal bagel was lovely, but the second time I visited, I had the French toast & it was gorgeous! Presented with a flower on top, maple syrup & cooked in a traditional Thai way. Highly recommend that. Great coffee too & very good value.
Would definitely return again in the future!

We came to The Hideout straight from Chiang Mai train station as we were starving!
The welcome to the restaurant (we got there just after opening so we were the first there) was a little frosty, but warmed up quickly.
The food was great! Lovely omelettes and the french toast was delicious.

I am 12 years old. I felt that I had to write a review as this restaurant is one of the best restaurants in Chiang Mai Best sandwich I ever had thanks to the hideout. They use fresh ingredients. Must say, the bacon is fantastic! The first restaurant I go to every time I am in Chiang Mai.

This restaurant is amazing for breakfast/lunch! My boyfriend and I struggled to find food in chiang mai which would fill us up in the morning but this place is brilliant, and I’m a picky eater!! The meat produce is the best we had in chiang mai and the staff are welcoming and prompt. Price also very reasonable. GO HERE IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE :)

Great place, good hospitality, excellent food! The owner really good explained the sizes of the toast and was very helpfull. We really enjoyed the french toast, smoothies, good coffee.

Really delicious breakfast/lunch spot hidden in a small street. I ordered a fruit smoothie and breakfast sandwich on a baguette. Great flavors. I am definitely going back again. Highly recommended on a walk around Chiang Mai.

We found this little gem by accident wandering the streets of Chiang Mai. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We wanted to get to the cinema after our delicious lunch and she sorted it all out. Food was great, I had the Greek baguette and the service was exemplary. Find it if you're in the area.

The best coffee I’ve had in Chiang Mai! Had the Greek baguette and it was delicious. My friend had the French toast, it was delicious and huge! We also had a brownie and cookie which were great. The staff were lovely. The place doesn’t look like much but it doesn’t matter when the food is this good.
