French, stylish, great service. Chose the set "tasting" menus. Varied and good. Except for dessert. Discovered a shard of glass or plastic about half an inch long and a sharp edge in ice cream. Mentioned to server. She took it away and returned with second dish, ice cream again, I did not eat. They removed $6 from bill. Wonder if... More

What a fabulous late lunch we had at this 2 star Michelin restaurant and incredible value. 560,000 dong (£20) for a 3 course feast.

great place to drop into for a chocolate martini and some nibbles and maybe a quiet read of a book. It's quite elegant without being snobby or elitist. Nice and laid back.

We went there to enjoyed our last night in Hanoi. We ordered a bottle of red wine at 10:30 pm and it was nice when the waiter gave us some snacks, but no body told us that they closed after 12:00am, so we had to finish our last bit in a hurry.

Food was good and set lunch fair value but atmosphere uncomfortable. Excessive noise from kitchen and kitchen doors which made an extraordinary sound as they opened and shut Smoky even in non smoking area of restaurant and slightly patronising greeters. Waiters had obviously been asked to explain each dish as it was delivered even in a language they weren't familiar... More

For years, I have been dining at the Press Club when in Hanoi, especially when I am staying across the street at the Metropole. It is a calm environment and a nice escape from the busyness of the streets below. It is an attractive restaurant. The dining experience begins with an ice-cold well mixed dry gin martini, as they do... More

We had a great night at Press Club for NY but objectively there were pluses and minuses. The buffet was fantastic if you like seafood - we certainly had plenty of great food to eat. Some of the staff were great - the sommelier went out of her way to ensure we had a good evening. There was some confusion... More

My husband discovered this gem, and the entire family were pretty much convinced he made a good call as soon as we reached the restaurant. Gorgeous roof top bar, really smart design, and a spectacular buffet. Everything was absolutely perfect. We were concerned at the lack of cranberry sauce for the turkey, but to our amazement, they whipped us up... More

The price for set lunch was reasonable given the choices of starter, main course, dessert which was great opportunity for people like us who are not sure but want to give it a try. The ambiance of the restaurant was classy, quiet and furnished with antique furniture. Since we have 4 people, we decided to order everything on the menu... More

Great for a night cap. A nice selection of cocktails, wines and Champagnes. Outdoor patio, DJ music inside. It was a very enjoyable evening. Fairly priced.

Description
A favourite with discerning visitors, residents and food critics alike, The Restaurant is one of Hanoi’s premier fine dining experiences. Located on the third floor, The Restaurant’s understated colonial ambience of sleek wood floors and furniture, crisp white linen and warm red and green hues, combined with impeccable service, permeates both discreetness and refinement. With a classically trained, European Executive Chef at the helm of an award-winning team of chefs, cuisine is classical French, with a contemporary twist and subtle Asian influences. Dishes are light and simple, yet with an innovative depth of flavours. Only the finest, freshest ingredients are used. Enjoy lunch and dinner from the a la carte or set lunch menus, or regular culinary promotions and special events. Two private rooms seating four or twelve are superb for intimate dining and entertaining, be it business or social occasions. The extensive choice of old and new world wines showcased in temperature-controlled glass cabinets have been endorsed by prestigious US wine magazine Wine Spectator, with an “Award of Excellence” for one of the finest wine lists in the world. The adjoining Restaurant Bar is a mellow spot to relax, whatever the occasion - especially when it’s Happy Hour. Plump sofas, rattan bar stools and low lights afford a cozy informality. Kick back and enjoy the great choice of beverages - including award-winning wines - or perhaps an after-dinner cognac or port to accompany the finest Cuban cigars, kept in mint condition in dehumidifier cabinets. The Terrace affords great views of the French Quarter beyond the potted palm plants. This open-air, third floor terraced area is where anything can happen – and very often does; host to a multitude of public or private events, be it Christmas and New Year celebrations, wedding receptions and anniversaries, corporate dinners, sporting events and themed party nights. With in-house sound equipment, large stage and informal seating facilities, this is Hanoi’s happening al fresco venue, whatever the occasion, whoever the crowd!
