This was a revelation. Tucked away discretely on a side street of Phu My Hung (District 7 aka 'South Saigon', this Tex-Mex restaurant serves hearty portions of extremely good Tex-Mex food from an extensive menu. Also excellent cocktail list and 6 craft beers available on...draft from three Vietnamese microbreweries. Tiny thing is that the first beer came out with a large foamy head but that was quickly rectified on the second pour without any fuss at all so no worries (craft beer head should never be more than 5% of the total liquid volume). The food was amazing, service quick and friendly and also some lovely Mexican music playing. The owner came over for a chat and asked us how we were getting along. All in all a superb occasion and free of tourists:))))))) Particularly recommend the burritos- excellent.More

I went with a friend, the place is quite, clean. The service is kinda weird, we didn't get a glass of water or been offered one. The prices are high and the dishes are massive, a burrito 200k dish is enough for 2 people, no...way a single person can eat it and yet they don't offer dishes for lower price and for personal eating. We ordered the tacos as well, massive dish and kinda messy. Generally it's a nice place, the food is average and the price is high but you get what you pay for (huge dishes).More

La Fiesta has the best Tex-Mex in Saigon. Their D7 location is just a good as their D1 location. I love their tacos and enchiladas. This is where I go to get my Mexican food fix. Their rice and beans are especially good.

Staff are friendly but service was slow. The burritos I ordered lacked seasoning and were pretty bland. My wife wasn't impressed with her nachos. The Jalapeno bacon balls were tasty though.

I absolutely love this place. And bear in mind I had my own Taco catering business in Southern California. The menu is very inclusive and everything I've ordered is like a taste of back-home. I bring my friends here knowing we'll have a great meal,...good portions and excellent service. I highly, highly recommend either location. Their other locations is in District 1 and same great food/service there as well.More

Let me preface this by saying that I am not Mexican. Apparently that matters to some people lol I've had burritos all around the world, and to be honest it's hard for me to think of one I didn't like. But I can easily tell...you my favorite - La Fiesta. It's that good. Honestly, they make it difficult for me to want to eat anything else. The nachos also kick serious butt. You literally get a mound of chips and toppings. The chips are a bit different to what some people expect, but I like them, they're thick so they don't get soggy so fast. Did I mention everyone gets free chips and salsa, even delivery? That's a nice touch. And the quesadillas are bigger than most pizzas in VN and suuuuper cheesy. It's awesome! Just so nobody thinks I'm too much of a fanboy, I do prefer tacos from other places over this one - sorry guys! They have two locations now, and PMH is definitely the winner, even though it's a bit further out of the way for me. It's very spacious and the decor is nice and not too over the top like some Mexican places. The menu is extensive, so I haven't been able to try everything yet. The portions are similarly huge, especially compared to typical offerings in Vietnam. And the prices are veeery reasonable compared to other Western food in Saigon. The staff are always really nice too! In short, if you don't like this place, we can't be friends. ;)More

We are a Mexican family so we were very excited to try this place, and even more when we read all the glowing reviews, but I have to say that I am very disappointed with the experience. I really wanted to like this place, but...it has a long way to go to be able to meet even Tex-Mex standards. The place is nice, clean, folks are friendly, so that is something that they do have going for them. However, the food is very bland, lacks basic seasoning, and either a little spice or a couple of Mexican “salsas” available for whoever wants to make things a little most interesting. They started us out with chips and salsa. The salsa, which was Pico de Gallo was not seasoned at all, no salt, no lime (or some kind of acid), no kick at all. The chips are not very good either, they are kind of puffy and very greasy. And guess what, not seasoned at all. We had the enchiladas, both barbacoa and lamb. The portion size is very big, presentation is OK, but it has too much sauce and cheese. Beans came out with no seasoning, rice was just a nicely molded gunk, (Mexican rice is not sticky) and it had no season at all and it tasted like it was a few days old. Of course one of the main staples of Mexican food is corn tortillas. The corn tortillas they serve here are chewy, slimy, and tasteless. If you start out bad with such an important staple, everything else really suffers. I have visited a few other Mexican restaurants in HCMC and I believe that they all use the same tortilla supplier, I know it’s the only one in town, but it’s just not good. We also ordered the Huevos Rancheros. Came with beans and hashbrowns. Come on! Hoashbrowns are not a part of Mexican or Tex-Mex food, plus they come from a frozen bag of hashbrowns, and not seasoned. They would do a lot better if they just used a fresh potato hash with bacon, or home-made chorizo. The huevos rancheros were layered with the same beans that came with the enchiladas, and as I mentioned before, they had no seasoning at all, so that just messed the whole plate. The steak taco was decent, flour tortilla saved it and the steak was nicely cooked and a little better seasoned. Still needs a bit more work. I wish I could give this place another chance, but the prices are too expensive to take the risk.More

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food but this place got me curious so I have to try it out. Don't know whether the food here is authentic Mex, Tex Mex or Viet Mex but it wouldn't matter coz the food is good. Salsa...and the chip was good. Philly cheese steak tacos was fabulous. I liked chipotle lamb shoulder burritos better than beef shank barbacoa. Quesadilas was the only dish that was not good. Staff was nice, quick, attentive. Overall, it was a great dinner.More

La Fiesta D7. I made it finally. Amazing decor and food consistent with D1 branch. Chimichanga meal combo different from Gringo Tacos but equally satisfying. I asked for spinach and mushroom filling in one and chorizo in the other. Black bean vegetable soup also featured...on this visit. I planned ahead to reserve room in the tummy for desert. Was not disappointedMore

Tasty new restaurant in my neighborhood in district 7. Very good drink specials before 7. I ordered the pork carnitas tacos while my wife had chicken enchiladas. We will be back.
