We were left utterly disappointed by this meal. We have had a lot of incredible food in Vietnam and this would have to be one of the worst. The food wasn't awful but it was incredibly average. It didn't have much taste and left us feeling unsatisfied. The best comparison I can make is that of a bad Chinese restaurant... More

At first sight, this might not be the type of place that we would normally eat, but it was so good and such excellent value for money that we went back twice! Everything we tasted was great and we couldn't believe the tiny bill at the end of the meal. This restaurant was one of the first to cater for... More

I hesitated to come here due to the tourist name and high response on tripadvisor, which may lead you to mediocre tourist restaurants. Mandarin Cafe is surprisingly a bit of best of two sides. Yes it is touristic and has mixed food to offer, but also the Vietnamese food was authentic and it is a nice place overall. Service was... More

The Mandarin Cafe is an extraordinary place that offers great nourishment. We got the BLTs which were incredible. The eatery is a decent minimal joint. The staff was pleasant and benevolent. For special reward Mr. Cu, the proprietor, is a refined picture taker. You can examine some of his awesome photography.

This cafe/restaurant is a good visit anytime day of night. Mr Cu is so charming and all of the staff friendly. We had Set menu A as we were feeling lazy and wanted something tasty and easy. We were not disappointed. Having said that the menu was extensive so plenty of choice for all tastes. We thoroughly enjoyed looking through... More

Very good breakfast at a reasonable price. The service was great, the owner? showed us some wonderful prints of his photography after we ate. However, butter was an extra 10000vnd which is something to bare in mind, as it is usually free of charge elsewhere.

Read about this Lonely Planet and thought we would give it try. It's a busy place, which is always a good sign. The owner is a keen photographer who is more than happy to show you his albums of what are really good photos of life in Vietnam. He is also happy to sell a copy of any photo you... More

Good food, a little bit expensive but flavoursome. The staff were nice. I had the beef and broccoli, which was great, and french fries (craving, ya know?) which were good. Would eat here again.
