We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. We just turned up in the evening and although it was packed the waiter found us a table next to the pool. The restaurant is actually an old colonial villa and is charmingly lit throughout. The menu has a reasonable selection, including deep fried tarantulas and a dish with red tree ants... More

Charming setting in a old house. A sort of oasis in the city. Food is good but not as awesome as the great food I taste in some resto 8 years ago in siem reap.service is really good.we ordered 2 veg dishes and a dessert. Not spicy and easy to eat. The dessert was heavy and didn't taste much.

This restaurant is associated with the "Friends" restaurant (see also Marum in Siem Reap) and run to give opportunities to former street youth to learn a trade in the hospitality industry. As such, a little patience may occasionally be required on the serving front but it is all done with willingness and a smile. This restaurant is an oasis on... More

It is a nicer version of khmer food one would find on the street. And they taste pretty good. They also offer some strange khmer delicacy like spiders and ants, so a good experience for tourists. Most clients are actually foreigners. The atmosphere was also nice and cozy.

Love this restaurant. It's food is authentic and delicious. They managed our group of 30 with no problems. They planned my son's pre wedding banquet dinner with no problem. Thank you.

Lovely staff & delicious food! Both times for lunch and dinner the meals were to a very high standard. The vegetarian amok was delicious, as was the pork eggplant. Favourites among all great dishes! The Coconut & Lime smoothie was also very delicious. For those more adventurous there are even fried tarantulas on the menu!

This restaurant supports children at risk of being drawn into an unhealthy/dangerous lifestyle - a worthy cause I was happy to support. I bought something from the gift shop after our meal. Something was amiss with our meals, however, as nothing we four ordered tasted really great, just OK. One of us did eat the fried tarantulas, for a laugh.... More

Fantastic place, great service, quite pricey for Cambodia. Quiet, beautiful area and feels secure as there is a security guard outside.

Really enjoyed this restaurant, best we visited in Phnom Penh! When we arrived the man on the door said they were full and couldn't seat us, we sadly left but 10 seconds later a waiter ran after us to say he would make room for us and thank goodness he did! We had fish amok & the beef curry, both... More

This restaurant is great. We had such a good time. The food is out of this world with some very alternative meals. Ants, tarantula, silk worms etc. The staff were also so kind and helpful. Remember to make a reservation as it's generally always full.

Description
Open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 10.30 Pm (kitchen closes 9.30Pm) Romdeng is set in a beautiful colonial building whose wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. The silk goods and cushions adorning Romdeng were made by our students in sewing training at Mith Samlanh and its walls are hung with beautiful paintings produced by young people from the art classes there. All of this plus a pool, free WIFI, a family area and a gift shop mean a visit to Romdeng is a must.

We would like to inform you that ROMDENG Restaurant will be closed for Khmer New Year and will reopen on the 6th of May 2014.
