Followed trip advisor reviews. A unique experience and lovely food. Very good host in 'baby' who took us upstairs and served us in the dark. Would be a 5 star BUT the front of house staff were poor quality, the bored guy at the front who didn't explain anything and seemed only to preen himself. I would have preferred some... More

In the age of social media and instagram, this is a unique experience. Yes you dine completely in the dark (try not to get food or drink all over yourself!) And you really have to concentrate on the smell and taste to guess what you are having as you wont know until the end. This makes you really appreciate what... More

Like many, we read the reviews and booked. Then we arrived, and suddenly we were a bit uncertain....because it really is PITCH BLACK where you eat. Don't hesitate. It's really worth it. Choose your menu - Khmer, Vegetarian, Western (you don't get to find out what the entree, main or dessert are for any menu, you just choose your theme).... More

Seeing you have to fork out a lot of money for this type of experience in the UK we thought it would be a good place to go whilst we were staying in Phnom Penh. It was a very strange experience and interesting to try and guess what we were having. The food was nice, wouldn't say amazing but we... More

They have an experience in London similar to this that I had been dying to try out.. I walked past in Cambodia and couldn't help myself. The experience itself was awesome, and a lot of fun. My local guide Freddo was an absolute babe and helpful as ever. I would do this again and again. Yes, it is steep in... More

The first visit I tried the Khmer food of which there was plenty . The second visit I tried the chefs special . The food tasty but not what I would have chosen had I been able to choose what I had on my plate . One of the people I was with overcame his fear of the dark after... More

We had the Khmer menu. The food wasn't really very nice - pretty tasteless overall, but it was an interesting experience.

We tried Dine in the Dark as it was suggested in the Lonely Planet guide book and were very satisfied. We walked in off the street at about 6.30pm and were able to be seated straight away. The staff member downstairs was very accommodating and were able to customize the meal to work with our tastes (my partner doesn't like... More

How good is this?? Choosing a menu, then being led into a pitch black space, seated, served drinks and food that is best eaten with your hands, in case your fork misses it completely. Seriously though, as many others have said, when one sense is taken away, your sight, all others become heightened and feel, smell and taste are so... More

What a fun night! The lights go down and your food is served, you have no idea what you're eating and the kids had so much fun, it was worth it just to hear how much they enjoyed it. The food was very nicely prepared and quite good value.

Description
DID - Dine in the Dark is a fine dining restaurant in which there are no lights inside the dining room. This pitch-dark restaurant provides guests a chance to discover Khmer, international and vegetarian dishes without seeing them, thereby heightening all non-visual senses in an elegant fashion. All dishes offer a surprising selection of tastes and textures, and by revealing the dishes only after dinner, DID - Dine in the Dark provides the opportunity to indulge in a culinary guessing-game. The restaurant also has a social purpose at the core of its business model, as it employs a team of talented visually-impaired to work as members of its service team. It thereby creates equal employment opportunities for the visually impaired in Cambodia while raising awareness about their professional skills. DID - Dine in the Dark is the perfect place for couples, friends, and groups to experience an enjoyable new world of sensations and discover social enterprises in a whole new way.
