I have been brought to this place from my new business partner in Mongolia. The food is ok, you can find international food as well as mongolian specialities. They also brew their own beer which is not bad, even if after a couple of glasses the following day I woke up with a bit of headache... The top of everything... More

Great local place to get the local beer. I prefer the Khan Brau over all other Mongolian Beers, and cant always find it at the more "traditional" bars or those that cater to ex pats. Nice quiet place off the beaten path...or at least during the day it was. Not sure about at night.

Simple, fast Mongolian fare. Safer than a guanz. If you are looking for authentic Mongolian fare quick and on the cheap then Khan Buuz is where its at. It does not try and cater to a foreign market but is a big name among locals. I have eaten there thousands of times over the last 12 years and often buy... More

Do you like Mutton? Do you like fatty, oily food without any seasoning? If you do, this is the place for you. Mongolian food is usually considered bland and unappealing by foreigners. Khaan Buuz tries to make it affordable to the Mongolian masses. If you go there on any day of the week you will not see many if any... More

for the meat lovers who have acquired the taste of mutton the Khaan Buuz gives great value for money (if it is the one across the street from the Department Store) honest food (carrot salads and the like), Mongolian milk tea and so on. A real treat for the connaisseurs of real food (and yes there can be the occasional... More

If you find yourself in Ulaanbaatar for either a couple hours or a couple of years, Khaan Buuz is known as a favorite "local's spot". With an unobtrusive exterior that's periodically redecorated to reflect local and international holiday's you might miss it. It'd be your loss. Sample traditional Mongolian fare amongst a diverse and interesting crowd. Expats and locals, cab... More

Wow. So I recently arrived in Mongolia and found the reviews on tripadvisor about Khaan Buuz. At first, I was reluctant. However, after slipping a Khaan Buuz boiled egg into my mouth and washing it down with a beefy helping of meat salad, I can successfully say this: while Khaan Buuz may be a far cry from Applebees, it sure... I am a regular at Khaan Buuz. The food here is of a good, consistent quality; service is rapid; and the atmosphere is pleasant. As others have noted, the branch across from State Department Store (its impossible to miss!) is the best in terms of quality, convenience, and potential for people watching. Not a perfect restaurant - but well worth... More

I'm not a very adventurous eater, so some of the traditional Mongolian foods like horse and camel don't really appeal to me. However, I have found my new favourite food in buuz! Specifically, the buuz at Khaan Buuz! Their lamb-filled dumplings are so delicious, I just can't get enough. Located right next to UB's most exciting tourist attraction, the Beatles... More
