Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Four of us went to Ahali Tesvikiye in May of 2024. We had a dinner of chef-selected small plates that we shared. After tasting the first four dishes that were brought out, we were openly exclaiming about the creativity and the incredible blend of flavors....It seemed unlikely that this high standard could be maintained as more food chosen by chef Ozgun was brought to us, but we were wrong, as each dish continued to be exquisite. We were literally eating the best food we had ever tasted. I highly recommend adding a visit to this delightful restaurant any time you are in Istanbul.More

This is simply the best food I have ever tasted. The chef combines creativity with nuanced flavor combinations and quality ingredients. We tried many dishes (mezze, main courses, and desserts) and each was exquisite. I look forward to returning to this restaurant someday and highly...recommend it!More

Very good mezze served with wine, beer or raki. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood. Well worth a visit.

I first came here five years ago, and was not disappointed on this second visit. Really interesting selection of sharing plates and delicious cocktails. Perfect for date night or somewhere to visit with friends. I shall definitely return once again next time I am in...Istanbul.More

Great food and portions. Service was friendly and high quality. The prices are a bit though, in general it is a very good choice.

This was my 4th time at Ahali with visits sprinkled in Nov last year and this spring. Each time the food has kept getting better!. We started with the amazing gin cocktail (1st one on the menu!) and got an array of cold and hot...mezzos. The standout ones were the Carcasian chicken (the best I’ve had in Istanbul), the pumpkin ravioli which is beautifully balanced and innovative, the doner kebap which took a diff turn (thick and steak like without too much fat) and the delcious rib roll which was a dance of intricate flavors! Chef Assad is such a humble genius turning out these amazing dishes!! Finally the orzo paella was to die for! If you are in Istanbul this place is a must go to!! The place has a cozy & trendy vibe, feeling an extended house party!More

Before you enter the place on the ground floor of a building in Teşvikiye, it feels as if you came to a small place; as soon as you enter, an impressive long bar welcomes you. It has been designed in a way to comfort both...the people waiting before meal and those who want to hang out at the bar. We pass by the bar and a modern garden of paradise hidden in the backyard welcomes us. We just take our place in the garden and choose our appetizers. The menu, which is quite rich with different variations, makes it a little difficult to decide; however, the flavors are great. The staff were very polite and had a good grasp of the menu. I definitely can recommend “Ahali” to anyone who want to have an enjoyable evening.More

Had a dinner with my gf around 7 pm. The place was not crowded when we ordered our plates. Atmosphere is nice, music is good. Taste was not wow but worth to try. There is a car park at the same building which is an...advantage. 4 glass of wine, salad and some other mezes costed around 300 trl.More

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant after walking out in disgust from the Divine Brasserie (see my review on them). And how lucky were we that what began as a night in an awful place meant we ended up in this absolute...gem. I ate last week in London’s Michelin Star Clove Club, and honestly, Ahali was even better - and about a quarter of the price. Modern Turkish fusion sharing plates of simply outstanding quality - tasty, innovative, fresh and fun. The service was impeccable, we were treated like VIPs despite being foreigners and there for the first time. We will 100% return the next time we are in Istanbul. One of the most exciting restaurants I have been to in years. Some other comments refer to smoking in the restaurant. This is incorrect. People are allowed to smoke in the outside area, nobody is allowed to smoke inside. This is an absolute must visit restaurant if you’re in town and I wish them every success in their wonderful restaurant.More

You can freely smoke your cigarette or cigar in this foul-smelling place. That means I'm not going again.

Came here for a high school reunion. The mezes are delicious. They are all traditional, with a twist. The service is very professional. A hidden gem. A must visit. Definitely a reasonable fine dining experience.

This place offers the old tastes with a twitch, which makes you feel like you are tasting something familiar but also new at the same time. We had such a great time there. The music is old 90s Turkish music which takes you back in...time while eating the new old tastes. Great place to try original Turkish mezes with new touch and make sure you share them with friends. Cuz, believe me, you will want to try everything on the menu and they all taste delicious!! Make sure you make reservations beforehand since it's a busy place during weekends.More
