Tahtasaray is a prime example of traditional Turkish organic grill cuisine that secured it's place at the pinnacle of Turkey’s gourmet scene. Everything we tried was very good, service a bit slow, normally I will rate it four stars. But then they have the best liver grill I ever had outside home. Just the liver deserves a five star. I also appreciate that melons they served with raki were sweet and tomato salad really tasted good.

The food is very good, the price is fair. Location decent. Service is clean and kind, no rush...kids are happy to be there. The only thing is that it is a bit noisy but anyway you will be one of them while having fun with friends..

Service was really bad. They close the kitchen at 10 pm so you cannot even ask for fruit which is not a cooked meal. Because you can have a drink at the restaurant, this is very odd.

Apparently its the best kebab in Istanbul and the majority of our party agreed! I can't say because I'm a vegetarian! What I can say though was that the huge selection of mezze was delicious and my aubergine dish was excellent. Good service, nice atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
