It was quite late when we came, but we decided on this restaurant because it was quite busy with locals. It was chilly outside but they have gas heaters and colorful lamps and things on the patio to make eating outdoors cozy. The menu is mostly Anatolian food with a few foreign additions like spaghetti. Service was quick and friendly... More

We stayed in the Sultania Hotel, that is across Deja Vu. When we go out of the hotel to look for a restaurant the man of Deja Vu started talking dutch with us. We were surprised, we said we will look a bit and walked away. The man stayed friendly and just said goodbye. We later decided we go eat... More

We first went here so my husband could have shisha and I could have coffee. The manager lured us in as they are wont to do in Turkey and Greece - calling you to have a look as you pass. The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere so welcoming that we returned twice with our families for dinner. At... More

Nice restaurant, friendly, helpful staff. A little pushy trying to get you to come in but it seem that all the restaurants are. The fish is excellent

We ate here after being accosted (in a friendly way) whilst walking past one evening and promising the staff we'd return. I'm pleased we did because the food was good and service very friendly. It's in a good location for tourists, too.

My wife and I were waiting for our laundry one day so stopped in here for a cup of tea, that turned into about three cups each. When we went to pay the waiter refused any money. We were so mightily impressed by that we returned one afternoon for a late lunch and had a leisurely meal. A very good... More

We went there with friends in our first night in Istanbul. It's a great place to meet Turkish cuisine for the first time! The food is delicious and portions are huge! Staff speaks English. Definitely recommend this place!

Turkish food is probably one of the greatest in Mediterranean. I like this place for two reasons - the food is great and the place looks nice. This is good place for a dinner in late afternoon. I never tried it for lunch. Perhaps one day. But dinners there are enjoyable.

This was just up the road from our hotel We only ate here once (food was pretty average I have to say) but we stopped off most nights on the way back to hotel for a drink. The waiters were very friendly and quite happy just to serve drinks. They even let us eat our Turkish Delight (although we did... More

Description
How to reach us: 1) Via Tram:(Takes 15 min from Kabatas station, 3 min from Sultanahmet)Get off the tram at Gulhane station (see the map below), at the traffic lights ahead take Ebusuut St. to the left and up the hill. After 2 minutes (50 meters) you will reach Sultania Hotel. Our restaurant is at the ground level opposite of the hotel building.2.) I am near, I may walk:If you are staying around here it is probably 10 to 15 min walk along the tram line towards Sirkeci direction. When you reach Gulhane station (see the map below) look for the traffic lights ahead. Take Ebusuut St. to the left and up the hill. After 2 minutes (50 meters) you will reach Sultania Hotel. Our restaurant is at the ground level opposite of the hotel building. 3.) I’ll prefer taxi:The driving directions are complicated around here. If you’ll get a taxi, it is better to tell the driver that you want to get off at Cagaloglu, just after passing Sirkeci train station (you can show him the map). Take the street on the left (Ebusuut St. opposite direction). It takes only a 5 minute walk by there.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
