This is a small, smart restaurant - book ahead for sure. Very convenient for the many hotels on the street. Some dishes very original: I loved the spicy beef on warm hummus. Others more average, but beautifully presented. Water will be offered to you aplenty: it isn't included in the price

We have read about the place in the Monocle Travel Guide of Istanbul, but were considering our options. As it was near a place we have visited in Pera, the Rixos hotel, we would also recommend, and we strolled down the street to Meze. Maybe by luck the owner was here as well that told us something about the place... More

There are a number of reasons why this restaurant is worth a visit. First, and most important (and obvious), is the quality of the food. Like all good restaurants the number of items on the menu is limited. The relatively few items on the menu are varied, of great quality and exciting. Secondly, the service is really good: nice, kind... More

We went to this place late by night and the welcoming was exceptional. We were not really hungry but ordered a good bottle of local wine with 2 littles plates. The waiter offered us a specialty as a starter + a dessert to share. The guy was really nice and the place really warm. Highly recommended!

Make sure you book, it's always packed. The menu is delightful and not too long, the food is delicious. The seafood pilaf was a highlight.

The food was simple but really elegant and therefore not that simple. Suits everyone who wants to try some Turkish food sitting at a cool place with charm.

The staff was very kind, helpful and friendly. Nice and cosy ambiance. We loved the meze that we ordered but the hummus was too salted. Focus on the meze and not the main courses.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
