Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I don't understand people who write positive comments about this local. The food is average, the restaurant is typical turistic , the prices are extortionate. When we asked for a menu, he told us that we had to order from the buffet and then they would bring...us the food. When he brought the menu we saw why.A typical place to pick up tourists. The service alone cost us 5 euros per person.Worst experience in Istanbul.More

Food was good, satisfying, maybe somewhat over cooked. We thought it was pretty decent food, we were very hungry and found the overall experience ok. Attentive. Quick service. Then came the bill and it seemed a bit exorbitant- we were told Turkey was more affordable....We had three plates of vegetable variations and we each got a bowl of garbanzo beans , some rice and a salad. Then tea at the end. $76! He even suggested a Service fee to reward the staff. Sure, help yourself to my wallet. Keep in mind, you don’t get any menu, you never see any prices. You choose from precooked items shown in a case, but never see what the cost is. One might ask going in, “umm, how much?” But this is Turkey, can’t cost that much, right? In India, there are 2 sets of prices. Like There, if you’re not Turkish, looks like you get Western prices.More

This Restaurant, nestled in the Grand Bazaar is a tourist Ripp off!! They charged for 2 coffees, 1 Orange juice and 2 plate of Veg. Food, over $85.00 !!! One coffee is 240 TL, or $9.00. Incredible. The food was not great either.

We stopped for a tea and coke and we’re charged TL200. It is extremely expensive and you can get the same drinks for more than 50% less a few steps away. Avoid if you don’t have money to waste!

This used to be an Istanbul favourite, however on a recent visit . . . The doner kebab was actually rather good, however, the meze dishes were somewhat bland. Most importantly of all, to confirm the complaints of many visitors, the prices charged were considerably...higher than expected (given recent currency devaluation, and especially compared with similar local restaurants). The evidence is two menus, priced depending you are an English or Turkish speaker. Shame as it's actually a very atmospheric place with a long history.More

We got here quite late in the afternoon so their food was running out, but the waiters happily served us what they had left of the chicken shish and lamb chops. Meat was okay, a bit dry, and rice was very flavourful. Overall, a bit...on the pricey side for what we got, though. Beautiful interior and of course, great location right within the Grand Bazaar!More

Average food at a very overpriced rate. 3,700 TL for six people. Expected a premium for the location but this was outrageous.

After a couple hours of walking in the Grand Bazaar, we decided to have a bit of rest and lunch at this restaurant. We were not very hungry after a heavy breakfast, and so ordered some soup, a cooked vegetable dish and some grilled kebabs....The food is fine, nothing special, and also quick service.More

A vendor we bought some items from in the Grand Bazaar brought us to Havuzlu for lunch. They have a delicious selection to choose from that changes daily. I had Turkish ravioli which was delicious!
