It is here that I had the best adana kebabı ever and they had spicy green pickled peppers at your discretion in a big box on each table.

I must admit I had seen this place on a TV clip from Anthony Bourdain so I put it on my list of places to go. I am very happy I did. This goes to prove that simplicity and specialisation goes a long way in taste. I tried a double wrap. I actually had two. It is simply delicious. I... More

It was easy to reach following its location on the map, just a few minutes off istiklal. I tried the double lamb wrap and it was delicious and was only for 14 TRY. Will definitely go for it again!!!

It has been at the same location for years and became a popular spot for street food... It is a great place to experience kebab and meat... The freshly made salads add tasteful joy to the meal... Not only hungry clubbers but also it is popular among anyone wants to have a quick bite...

Great durum, better than any other meal i had in istanbul for a relatively small price. The only set back is that you have to wait for15 minutes for the sandwich.

First time and day in Istanbul and I went looking for this little joint I had read about. Trying to find it was a little difficult as I didn't have connection to use a map, eventually just randomly found myself in front of it. We ordered a mix of lamb and something else (can't remember now) and sat at the... More

Basic but finger licking good. That's how food ought to be. Cheap as well and on a very real area. Very good to move from the crowded and touristy places just a few meters away on Istiklal Street.

Love the thin bread heated with sauce over the barbecue, worth eating after a night at nevizade. Meat is not overly fatty nor too much dried but quite spicy

This was highly recommended place by our host as a must try place while in Istanbul and to not leave before trying. It turned out to be our first meal as well as it's just around the corner from Istiklal Street. I don't believe there's much seating inside, but tables setup outside and across the street. We were seated right... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
