Lovely restaurant with lovely staff and Dino who works there is very and wasn't aggressive as he approached us to eat at the restaurant. The food was very nice, my husband had the lamb kebab and I had the chicken casserole which was very tasty. It's also located near Aya Sofia so it's a convenient location to stop off after... More

We were too hungry for dinner and decided to drop by the restaurant. It was supposed to be a simple dinner but we decided to try out the Testi Kebab instead - it was a superb meal which came in some sort of a clay-ish container. The waiter will break the container right in front of you....need I mention that... More

We, mother and daughter, walked by and the waiter got our attention because he talked in our language, dutch. He convinced us that the food was really good, so we decided to eat here outside under a heater in 10 degrees. We ordered something we didn't know and the waiter, named Dino, gave us good advice for a good white... More

Two friends and I found this restaurant on our very first night in Istanbul and had such a wonderful experience there. The food is fantastic, we always had the Turkish Cuisine, and the staff attentive and smiling. We then tried other restaurants - and most a lot more expensive - but kept coming back to the Palmiye and were welcomed... More

Very tasty food (especially Tasty kebab) and very friendly people. We were there at our 2 visits to Istanbul, the last was in February, 2013. The bad news are that their prices has grown approx. 50%((( And it was very nice cat near the cafe)))

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
