If you're in Istanbul you have to come here. The fish kebab is fantastic, and unlike anything I have had before - really tasty and really cheap! The stuffed vine leaves are also fantastic.

Cosy, friendly, great jazz music and some of the best seafood we have had. The grilled calamari with a secret sauce is amazing. We will be back

Together with my husband we shared 3 dishes: octopus salat, Turkish fish dumplings and fried whitebait. It was delicious, fresh and not too salty, not too oily. We paid 123 lira including mineral water (July 2015). We had a lovely dinner. The restaurant is very small and it is nicely decorated with modern, fresh style. (Not typical Turkish). Service is... One of the best fish restaurants I have ever visited. Food very fresh and nothing to fault. Owner/ cook is friendly accommodating. One in our party doesn't eat fish and he even helped her ordering from a nearby restaurant. Have to visit if in the area

Honestly, if you do nothing else in Istanbul, try to get to Furreyya Galata in Beyoglu and have a fish wrap. They're incredible!

I had a quiet dinner at this small cozy restaurant. First of all, the food is delicious and fresh. I had a sautéed mussels as a starter while my friend had calamari rings with tartar sauce. For the main course, we had a grilled sea bream fish with salad and rice as well as the fish pasta. We really love... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
