We are dinner at New Year's Eve and were so disappointed that we sent an email to the restaurant with some constructive comments. We've never heard back. Since we've not changed our mind, we paste the letter here as our review. Dear sir, We thought we should share our impression of dinner at Mikla with you. We were there last... More

I went there with my boyfriend to visit Istanbul and our place was next to the restaurant. A chill out atmosphere with a beautiful view of the city, the food was very nice. It's quite expensive considering also the other place in town. But you are in the 56th restaurant in the world.

This place is well situated at the top of Marmara Pera, really good view that look out panoramically over the city. Loved the rooftop bar that serve pre-dinner drinks. Great place to start your evening.

We went for lunch to Tadbak, Nisantasi, together with my wife. We first shared a lahmacun which was quite good but not more. I took the shish kebab which was poor, my wife's chicken shishlik was not better either, and even the bulgur left quite a lot to be desired. In short we had heard a lot of praise for... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
