We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Food was very good and the service as well was very good, friendly and helpful. This is one of the best dining experiences in Jerusalem.

I was a bit apprehnsive coming to 1868 as I had been here years ago and was disappointed. Not to be the case this time... Amazing service, fabulous food and great wine made our evening with friends a wonderful time. We didn't want to leave. Great appetizers, mains and lovely desserts. Truly an excellent dining experience.

1868 is a kosher meat restaurant. It is named for the year when Jews left the Old City to live outside the wall. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful Jerusalem former residence. Beautiful interior to the restaurant, although not very crowded or festive feeling. We ordered our food and more of the Orem Volcanic Chardonnay. The waitress arrived with... More

Delicious food, beautifully prepared, carefully served. Very romantic atmosphere, staff was very well versed in the details of the menu. We were bundled up while eating in the courtyard on a windy evening and we still enjoyed it very much.

My partner and I enjoyed a late evening meal at what continues to be one of Jerusalem's finest restaurants. My choice of veal sweetbreads followed by duck breast was sublime . The duck dish was literally smoking. The whole meal was delicious and theatrical Service excellent -all the staff were knowledgable Apart from the Matza served instead of bread you... More

A marvelous dinner of subtle and delicious flavors, banishing for all time the myth that kosher food is bland and over cooked.

Charming place with small outdoor patio dining area. Nicely decorated. We were given an eggplant purée, two different types of delicious bread, and a decorated bonsai tree with stuffed olives on the branches and a few different items on the bottom. We had leek soup with pumpkin biscotti and a beet salad for appetizers. Everything so far was delicious and... More

As a guest of the King David we ate at 1868 several times. The service was impeccable and the food deliciously prepared.

i was there on a business lunch. surprisingly it wasn't as expensive as i had anticipated plus the food and the service were excellent. I am not kosher and don't always fancy kosher restaurants, but this one i would go to regardless. it was about 600 shekels for 4 people. just to compare we went to another restaurant in the... More
