Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An old favorite of those in-the-know in Jerusalem. Nothing fancy, just good ethnic food! Located at the edge of Machane Yehuda (the "shuk"). Not entirely easy to find for tourists but ask locals for directions.

Azura is very popular, crowded and expensive (was much cheaper before). The food was very nice, the waiter was attentive and fast, all was fresh and delicious. Great experience till I went to the toilet - there was only one for both men and women,...straight next to the food and the kitchen, unbelievably dirty and unbelievably stinky, I never saw such thing before! I left immediately without using it, will never go again to this restaurant, they don't respect their clientsMore

Nice home kitchen food. Prices are pretty high. Not worth the money. Service is good. We sat outside in August and the brought us a mobile air conditioner.

Excellent Iraqi (Kurdish) Jewish meat dishes such as kubbeh (soup) and ground meat stuffed eggplant. This was a good stop for an interesting hearty lunch. There are some side dishes (like rice with lentils) as well. Name caution: this excellent meat restaurant is on a...side street in the Machane Yehuda market. Note that there is also a stall on one of the main shopping streets also called Azura (spelled differently in Hebrew, the same in English) that is a dairy burekas and sandwich shop. This restauant on the side street has outdoor seating but also some indoor (and air conditioned) seating on the entry level and upstairs. There are also restrooms. This is clearly a popular place with a well-deserved reputation for tasty, interesting food at a reasonable price.More

We enjoyed our lunch. We sat outside which was a nice location in the market. Food was interesting and very good. We rated this a 3 instead of a 4 because of the service. Our server was overworked (he looked like the only person working...all the tables) and forgot one of our dishes. He was working real hard so it wasn't his fault, they should have more staff working.More

It felt like being invited to my aunt's or granny's home. Food was served - you can see the food cooking in the kitchen. The servers were quick to respond and very friendly. Drop.by whenever you're at Mahane Yehuda - you won't regret it.

Azura is the type of place you have to know about in advance as it is hidden in an alley of the shuk up a flight of stairs. Outdoor covered seating is available which was very pleasant on the day we visited. The menu is...small which enables the staff to concentrate on a limited number of traditional dishes from Iraq. Despite being crowded, service was very fast and very friendly. The food was great and the pricing was very fair. We all enjoyed our lunch very much! Highly recommended!More

I was served wonderfully by a woman. the food that was a blue aubergine, a simple hummus, some green beans in sauce and two Coca Colas zero. everything good and the food delicious. Due to the euphoria of being in the company of my friend...and the enjoyment of the food, none of us realized that a young boy, a blond waiter, cheated us on our bill and we also gave him a tip. When calculating the bill, we indicated the same thing that we had eaten and drank and he charged us 52 euros in exchange, including a tip that we gave him. and we believe that he did it willingly because we had told him everything we consumed. little margin for error. therefore, beware of scamming tourists in this restaurantMore

In a land dominated by hunus, shawarma and falafel, this restaurant is in a different league all together. Unique dishes, superb variety, distinct cooking method, great flavors (middle eastern) and an outstandingly friendly service team. Do not miss.

Sabbath or not, they are not open in the evenings. Anyway, the food is finished very quickly (after 3 or 4 pm, you are left with "left over"). So I don't think there is a need to serve in the evenings.
