Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The waiter told us that the concept of the restaurant is sharing your meal. The dishes are brought to the middle of the table and everybody should share it. However the dishes are so small that it's almost impossible to share. We were 3 people....Most of us went to eat after this meal to another restaurant because we were hungry. The food was ok. Some dishes like the broccoli were boring. Nothing special. Vine is very expensive. A glass minimum 45 shekel. 200 a bottle.More

The food here was outstanding and the service, simply impeccable. Every 10 minutes, attentive staff would check in on us, ensuring our water glasses were full and our wine was just right. On our last night in Israel, we discovered upon arrival that our reservation...was mistakenly made for the wrong day. Despite a full house, the restaurant graciously accommodated us at the kitchen bar. The warmth and friendliness of everyone at the restaurant added to the experience. I must also mention, the portions were generously sized. I firmly believe this is one of the best restaurants in Israel.More

It's not easy to find a restaurant for 11 people, especially when some in the group are foodies. DOK had excellent Mediterranean fusion dishes. So much so that our picky eaters loved it too! T.

Let's start with the positive... the food is good. Maybe even very good. But... as you can see in many other reviews, very small portions and very expensive. Overall, not wort it! The worst part... there is no signage, horrible communication, wrong location on online...maps, poor service, very loud, and basic interior. It's a real shame. If they put 1/2 as much effort into the space itself, and the service, as they do with the food, it would be much better. Going to a restaurant is about the overall experience. The chef knows what they're doing, but that's where it stops. Tel Aviv has so many amazing restaurants - Unfortunately, this is not one of them.More

The time has come for restaurant to realize that they do not have the right to charge hundreds of shekels for a meal and send the customers home hungry. Tiny dishes, sometimes really embarrassing in their simplicity and astronomical prices. More

We had a wonderful meal at Dok. We really enjoyed the restaurant's philosophy of only using ingredients from Israel. It made the meal that much more authentic. It also meant the restaurant had to be very creative (e.g., caramelized guava for dessert!). The atmosphere is...casual, but the food first-rate and service very pleasant; the server offered some excellent suggestions on dishes, all of which were excellent.More

In 2018 I visited DOK and was surprised by the professional and welcoming atmosphere and the great food! This week (Jan 2023) I finally had the opportunity to revisit and did so: twice! I took my girlfriend and we truly enjoyed (again) the fantastic dishes....It was a great pleasure to be there again and to find that the concept has even improved! Again wonderful dishes composed with local ingredients. In one word fantastic!More

Sorry not to take pictures of our food -- it was way to good to delay eating it. They make sublime food here, with fresh local ingredients. The plates are fairly small, which allows you to try many different dishes, all of which are excellent.

The food here is some of the best I've had recently (not just in Tel Aviv) - every single dish was delicious and also really creative. Our party consisted of mostly vegetarians, and even though most of their menu is fish/meat based, there was still...a good variety of excellent vegetarian dishes to choose from (vegans would probably have a harder time, though a few of the options were vegan as well.) The service was also very friendly. Those complaining about small plates do not understand the kind of place this is (don't be fooled by the informal Israeli atmosphere - this is a high end restaurant).More

A nice place, not something unusual … but dishes too sophisticated and no option for kids (apart from pasta w tomato sauce, which sauce was so little in, even after we specifically asked for additional dish with more sauce). Service is not that attentive. All...in all, not very recommended. Just ok.More

OK, let's get portion size out of the way. They're small. Now with that taken care of, each of the seven dishes we sampled was sensational, a strikingly original combination of flavors and products. Service was casual but professional, first rate in every way. The...staff dealt with our limited Hebrew and offered us a warm welcome. The prices are less than other Tel Aviv restaurants of equal or lesser quality. This kitchen knows it's stuff. If Dok was in NYC, our hometown, you wouldn't be able to get a table for months. A wonderful dinner all around.More

All the dishes were very original, with multiple ingredients and flavors and small.. The products used are grown in Israel - but the dishes served are definitely not typical to Israeli kitchen. But this is besides the point. The quality of the dishes varied -...one was outstanding (sausage) - both the sausage, the ingredients and the combination of flavors worked like a charm. I did not enjoy other dishes like the polenta and the baked Kohlrabi (Cabbage Turnip) . The service was good. Overall, we felt it was overpricedMore

When the cocktail is the best part of the menu, what does this say about the restaurant? All the dishes we ordered were ridiculously small with ingredients which not always blend well together. Although it seemed that the chef tried to be creative in his...pompous effort to create “new” flavors, the results were rarely successful. Among the various dishes we ordered, only the corn salad was very tasty. Yet, almost 50 Shekels for 4 spoonful of corn, feels like having been taken for a ride! So if you decide to visit this restaurant, don’t order any food, but have the Gin Tonic!More
