I went with a group of friends to Monserrate and we decided we didn't want to have dinner, so we went to Santa Clara which is more like a Cafe where you can get drinks and some snacks. We were like 6 people and we ordered the check separate. The waitress said there was no problem. I ordered hot chocolate... More

To visit the Resturante & Bar Santa Clara in Monserrate, needs a carefully plan including enough time and minimum four (4) hours, to enjoy the adventure of ascending to more than 30000 meters, in the Swiss cable car, the tour in the Monserrate Monastery and finally a romantic dinner in Santa Clara´s Restaurant a French house, which has been moved... This restaurant is perched near the top of Monserrate. It was a perfect day for a view so we ate a late lunch at Casa Santa Clara and had a table right by the window. They served typical Colombian dishes. My son did not like what he ordered (had fatty meat in it), but the rest of us liked our... More

I went to Santa Clara by chance, it was not planned so I did not have a reservation, however, This wasn't a problem. I order the "Cazuela Santa Clara", it was nice but normal ($33.000 COP). The magic of this place is the view of Bogotá, it is better if you sit yourself close to the window.

After you walk around Monserrate you must eat something. There are many good options up there, but I ended up choosing to eat at Santa Clara. I had the small Ajiaco and the arepas con chorizo y guacamole. The ajiaquito, a traditional local soup, was delicious. The views are very nice and the restaurant staff provide great service.

we really liked this place! the waiter we had was fantastic and he worked with us so we could get our boys food that they'd actually eat-which they did! we wanted spaghetti with zero garnish or sauce, only a little butter, and something else i can't remember but i do remember being totally impressed with the spaghetti when it came... The building is amazing and you can have a nice cup of tea while you watch the sunset. On the inside could use some TLC. On the outside you get the best views of the city and you can watch the sunset and the city light up! Loved it, it can get a little cold...

Went up Monserrat at night and enjoyed a truly spectacular view of Bogota from this very nice cafe in the bottom floor of the restaurant. Nothing beats contemplating this endless city at night with a hot chocolate in your hand.

Description
Located at the top of the Monserrate Mountain and with the beautiful city of Bogota as the main view, this restaurant offers its guests the chance to savor Colombian dishes such as the coastal halibut, the tamales from Tolima, the paisa platter, milk curd dessert with candied mamey fruit, or its famous barbecues with large and small pork chops. You will also be able to enjoy beautiful sunsets accompanied by the best "onces santafereñas" (afternoon snacks traditional to the area). Another harming detail of this restaurant is that it is located in a beautiful house built in 1924, in the town of Usaquen, which was relocated to the Monserrate Mountain in 1979.
