Located in the heart of Rangoon, this place is a nice trendy canteen with nice and efficient service and very large choice of local specialities.

Small portions. We asked especifically for non spicy food and It was really spicy. Western prices for local food. Tourist attraction, not the best experience in Yangon. Friendly staff.

Had tea during our exploration of the old colonial downtown buildings. Worth a visit. Very busy. Upstairs cocktail bar.

I only came here for the tea. The place is nicely decorated, but a little fancier than I expected. They have a great selection of teas though it is more expensive than normal tea houses.

I think it is fair to say this was our most disappointing meal in Myanmar... The food was much Better in smaller And Better priced restaurants in bagan, ngapali and mandalay. Sure it looks like a Nice hipster area, But overall disappointing. Also, most vegetarian...More

Delicious food, good selection of drinks and a really beautiful environment. I would suggest it for a dinner with friends or a business meeting. Waitresses need to be a bit more careful but they are overall polite and kind so I am still satisfied and...More

I give a 2 to this restaurant and not only a 1 because the food was decent and well presented. Unfortunately the service is a fast food one. We had been waiting for more than 30 minutes to order and more than one hour to...More

I went here with my friend and ordered way too much food, but it was so good I couldn't waste a bite. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the tea was very good. They classify all of the teas on a comparison scale from...More

Doubt they would. Rangoon is new to ATM's prepaid food vouchers would be a ways off I'd suggest getting in contact with Mark at the Strand and seeing if you can prepay drinks & nibbles st the bar there instead.

Description
Rangoon Tea House is a modern recreation of an old, colonial-era restaurant set in the heart of downtown Yangon. The cuisine is inspired from that of local tea shops, whose traditions stretch back to when Burma was a part of British India when Rangoon was the second largest migration port in the world. That translates to the menu where you can find Mohinga, biryani, and chocolate samosas! The mezzanine of Rangoon Tea House is The Toddy Bar, a modern Burmese cocktail bar with cocktails designed by award-winning and internationally renowned mixologist, Hideyuki Saito.
