Stumbled across this place as I was walking back to my hotel and decided to come back the following night for some Mexican as it is one of my favourite types of food. It did not disappoint. The food was some of the best I have had. It had plenty of vegetarian options, and the burrito I had came with... More

The restaurant is in the heart of Wan Chai. There are many dining options in the street and we made the wrong choice. I ordered the Con Carne it was made with very touch stringy meat which to be totally honest the source of which I couldn't identify. It was awful and I sent it back. My colleague and I... More

Had the cochinita pibil, it was excellent with habanero sauce. Michelada wasnt the classic with clamato but it was still excellent. Music selection was very adequate (mexican-latin). Service was okay, could be better though.

Great bar service here, makes all drinks and the chicken fajitas are excellent, as well as the nachos. Highly recommended if your looking for western type food while in Hong Kong and in the Wan Chai district

We only ordered the Tortilla Soup and Steak Nachos and wow, what a meal! I'm from California and grew up with some amazing nachos, but this restaurant sure gives ours a run for its money! No a/c though when I went, so if it's a hot night, you might want to order "mild" salsa.

We decided to take my mother out to dinner while on vacation here. Since she is from Southern California we figured why not a home town norm for her... Mexican. Took a few minuets to get seated which was fine then it took 10 minuets to have a waitress stop by for drink orders. As the time passed and our... More

I regularly call at Agave when in Hong Kong. The fajitas are outstanding but the can vary a little depending on which chef is working. As one might expect, Agave has a good selection of Tequilas and margaritas and Mexican beers are a favourite. Happy hour is also good for 2 for 1 deals. Devore is traditional Mexican and service... Good food but noisy rather than great ambience! Service good, nacho starter excellent. My beef fajitas were a bit stringy. Overall a bit lacklustre.

Agave offers a menu showcasing regional specialties and creative dishes from Guadalajara, Mexico’s second most populated city, as well as Jalisco. Ingredients used such as various chilies, cactus and fresh green tomatillos are imported from Mexico, whilst our tortillas are handmade on site. Guests can try our wide selection of tequilas or savor our well-known margaritas at the long bar. The ambience is authentically Mexican as vivid oranges and reds exhibit the unique architectural style of Luis Barragán, one of the most influential Mexican architects of the 20th Century.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
