If you want good roast goose and not pay premium prices in HK, go to Wah Fung. A block away from Yung Kee, not as fancy decorated as Yung Kee but food is great for the price you pay! Yung Kee is over rated and their goose has deteriorated in taste and they are too pricey!

Wah Fung…. Decent little restaurant this !! We were wondering around Central Hong Kong, down the side streets and alleyways looking for something local and decent. We came across this place, was very busy, some interesting offerings on the menu so we dived in. Have to say, the Pork and Chicken sweet and sour was v good, the chilli squid... More

Was rather empty when we went for late dinner. Most of the roast were sold out by then. Ordered a steam fish traditional Cantonese style as recommended by a friendly staff and a Claypot roast pork belly , tofu and fried bean curd sticks. The daily soup had a homely feel and great flavour. The fish was very fresh and... More

Unfortunately worst meal we had in two weeks in Asia. Got the wrong dish and informed them three times (what we ordered was right there on the receipt). They didn't care at all and pointed at the bland vegetarian steamed rice and said it was what we ordered. Umm. No. The sweet and sour pork we got was just a... More

We are staying a couple of doors down at the Wellington and wanted a quick, easy meal close-by. What a find! Delicious, moist roasted meat. Great service and reasonable prices. We had the roasted pork and roasted duck, ginger and egg white fried rice and a stir fry vegetable dish with oyster sauce + Chinese tea. Total cost HK$311. Highly... More

Stumbled on this family run restaurant about 5 years ago and now always visit it when in Hong Kong. It was established in 1941 and remains popular with locals (most of clientele) and visitors alike. Specialises in roast meats and does some great pork dishes (e.g. char siew). The deep fried century egg wrapped with squid paste/prawn paste is very... More

Found after drinking in the Soho area, this small narrow restaurant has a long history and wide menu. Four of us had what can only be called a sumptuous meal in the café-esque surrounding. Foo was plentiful, tasty and really what you would expect a Hong Kong Chinese restaurant to be. The Pheasant was huge, lemon chicken crisp, roast pork... More

My son and I were recommended this restaurant near the mid levels escalator in Soho. The interior is typically Chinese, with lots of wood and there are booths in the back of the restaurant which are great for private dining. We were lucky enough to be served by the owner "Uncle Ben" who said his family first opened the restaurant... More

Star dish - Deep fried Peidan (century egg) wrapped with squid paste/prawn paste. Gorgeous roast goose and boiled/steamed chicken. Char Siew was a tad too hard and lean for my taste. They forgot our order of fried rice. Perhaps it was a busy day. Reservations a must for dinner, do call before heading to the restaurant.

Going for a meeting in Central and looking for a quick and tasty lunch so decided to go to Wah Fung. We were seated quickly by the service staff and had the set lunch of roast goose and char siew (BBQ pork) with rice and soup. I believe this is probably the best roast goose in HK. We were in...
