Kau Kee Restaurant (九記牛腩) is said to be one of the best restaurants that specialises in beef brisket noodles. If you google “best beef brisket hong kong”, you will get the entries that have this restaurant mentioned. Kau Kee has been in the business for more than 90 years. So, it must be so good that is keeping its business... More

I walked past this place every time I visit HK and there is always a queue outside it - normally of locals which is a good sign. Once, when the queue was only two people, O stopped in and was so glad I did. They specialise in ( think pretty much only do) Beef Brisket Noodles, either with soup or... More

Noodles were good. Broth was ok and beef brisket was a little tough even though it comes apart in strips. Friendly, no frills and cheap.

They had generous servings of tender beef slices in their beef brisket bowl and the soup was yummy - perfect for the cold weather at the time we dined. The price was a bit more expensive though compared with other noodle shops around HK. They also have a minimum 45HKD spend per head policy. There was a short queue outside... More

I am a local Hong Kong people and most of my friends and I hate this shop a lot. The beef brisket they make is so hard, why people still find this is yummy. Many other shops in HK sell better beef brisket noodle than Kau Kee. The noodle is over price and the worst thing of this shop is... More

What a great spot. A local spot with the best bowl of beef brisket noodles. Sit at communal tables. Be sure to bring your pack of tissues.

I always eat at Kau Kee when I'm in Hong Kong. The breef brisket noodle soup is sensational, and I love the curried dishes too. It's a busy restaurant and you'll probably queue outside for a while and share a table with other diners when you get in but that makes the whole experience even more memorable. Open lunch and... A must try for beef noodles. They open at 12.30pm daily except Sundays and Public Holidays. It's a popular eatery so be prepared for a long queue before they open but the queue moves fast.

Great food and great experience. We stopped here for a late lunch and were not disappointed with our ramen or curry orders.. the line moved fast and we were seated with a fun group of strangers - highly recommend!

After a short wait in line we were seated family style (cramped but normal for HK noodle shops) and were promptly served bowl of noodles with soft beef chunks. The noodles seemed a bit over cooked but the beef dashi and chunks of beef made up for them being over cooked in IMO. We enjoyed the dish and may go... More

Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces.
