Peking Garden is very popular and located in the Central. It was crowded but we made reservations a few days in advance. We ordered a whole Peking duck and the waiter carved it at our table. The duck was a little fattier than we expected...but it was yummy and it was fun to eat with your hands. Prepare to stay for two hours because the service is not great.More

We came for the duck. It's OK. Not great and if you're looking for the Beijing experience with lots of trimmings and amazing sauce, this place is more your budget duck experience. But the duck meat was fine enough. But the service .... OMG. It...was terrible. Despite the fancy surroundings and smart suits on the waiters they really could not care less. The pot sticker dumplings we ordered as a side dish were woefully dried out having sat under a heat lamp somewhere. No self respecting chef would eat or serve those. But the waiters here dished them up and when we pointed out the complete cardboard exterior of what should be fresh soft dumplings they just shrugged and said that's how they are supposed to be. Well... They're just a bit wrong and for that piece of brain dead service, I know I won't return here again. If they don't respect a basic Chinese classic like dumplings then you can't trust their judgement on anything else. Their mothers would be ashamed of them for serving thatMore

Have not been here for a while. But we had some friends visiting and we think it’s always a good place for Chinese Food. It’s quite a big place so it’s also good for big parties like 8 or 10 people. It has a good...central location in Alexandra House. We do like in particular their Peking Duck two ways. First you get the crispy Duck skin with the pancakes and the you get the meat with carrots and the lettuce as a wrap. Go and try it!More

Aromatic duck, with sweet sticky flavors and the best handmade rolls to accompany them, in a traditional style venue

Avoid at all costs (and it will cost) This place came recommended - maybe it used to be good?. Next to a large table of loud Americans who insisted on playing videos to their Whole table whilst we were trying to eat. The back of...the menu list a whole host of things they try to charge you for that you don’t ask for (tofu and cucumber appetiser, tea etc) so be warned! The dim sum starter was good though they came back after ordering to say they didn’t have what we’d ordered. We then had a whole duck which they make a great show of bringing out, to then take it away. They then bring it back a moment later all sliced up, though I doubt it’s the same duck as it seems very little! Why not carve in front of you? It seems it’s the same duck, wheeled out by the same sullen waiter time after time. We were one duck pancake in at 10pm when we were rudely interrupted by a woman asking if we wanted to order dessert. Bear in mind this is not the cheapest of places and apparently holds a Michelin star- simply not appropriate. We are also asked numerous times if we wanted wine (we opted for a Tsing Tao each) Once I’d finished I left the table as I felt nauseous - and was sick in the bathroom. Sadly There is no atmosphere, far far too light & filled it seems with Australians and Americans on work expenses, who have zero manners & too much to drink. It’s like a large vaguely oriental dining hall. As we’d finished my client left to go to the toilet at which stage another large group of Australians near me started arguing about their bill and calling each other f**king c*nts. I paid the bill over $1000HK and we left At which point my client apologised, told me she needed to leave as she’d just been sick also An absolute avoid at all costMore

The Peking Duck was exceptional and all the local specialties like duck's tongues and tofu dishes were well executed.

One other reviewer said the duck had a pungent smell. It does once you put it in your mouth and chew. It was so horrible i could not eat more than one. Other food was bland and not that fresh. This used to be good...many years ago. Sadly i never want to return. Its not cheap either.More

You don't have to pre-order the duck and they do serve duck during lunch hours. As far as I remember.
