This is the place to try a terremoto- its strong and tasty. Best one we had on our trip. The food is traditional Chile. They bring generous rolls to the table and a pabre that is a bit spicy even for this Texas girl and Im used to hot sauce. Add some butter and you will be ok. I had... More

I ate at this place with my local friend. We ordered all their traditional food and it tasted really good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I had a great time eating at this place. The downside is that, it was hard to find and probably impossible for me if it weren't for my friend.

This is a place near the central station where you can get a simple restaurant dinner. There were places nearby on Conferencia street that we would have liked to try but they were shut in the evening. Conferencia looked spookily deserted. Other than the joints along Libertador O’Higgins, this was one of the few options for dinner. The meat was... More

Recommended by our Patagonian tour guide, we stopped in and had a fantastic meal. The terromoto was like a spiked dole whip and he food was very flavorful. So glad we ventured off the beaten path and tried something local!

This is a good no frills restaurant to try traditional Chilean food. It is a 7 minute walk from the Estación Central metro station on line 1. Upon reaching the station, I plugged the address into google maps on my phone and found the location. It is a crowded place. We ordered the pork dish, the arrollado and Morcilla (blood... More

If your Spanish is as poor as ours, they have an English menu with photos of their popular dishes. Bread was brought to our table with a mildly spicy salsa. We opted for two glasses of the Terremoto ('earthquake') cocktail, a Chilean drink made with a white sweet wine with a scoop of pineapple ice cream making it look like... More

I know Chilean food. I grew up with it. I love it. The people at El Hoya know what they're doing. Yes, there's a lot of tourist hype about this place, especially after Bourdain visited some time ago. But the food is really good. Try the blood sausage with puré picante. Also, the arollado huaso is one of the best... More

I thought this was the one of the best meals I had in Chile. Prices are reasonable, USD 8-15 per plate, and the servings are huge. Hands down the best terremoto(s) blancos I tried. Not that easy to find, but I am glad I did. Go hungry!
