After a while in Chile, you will start to wonder what our typical dish is. Empanadas? Nope, they're also found in Argentina... Ceviche? Essentially peruvian... Humitas? Almost mexican tamales. Even if the sandwiches at Fuente Alemana do have a German influence, our obession with avocado (palta) as a culture is very chilean, hence the sandwiches that contain it; from sausages,... More

As it is located in a main avenue in Santiago, it is easy to find. The sandwiches are delicious and huge and they are totally worth it (even when they are a little bit expensive). Excellent attention and nice environment, I really recommend this place if you want to taste a typical Chilean sandwich - you can even watch as... More

The service is excellent, you can even see your sandwich being prepared right in front of your eyes, all ingredients are fresh and all "cocineras" are friendly. Be sure to try the lomito, which preparation is unique. You might think the prices are a bit high, but the quality is worth it.

Went there for lunch. Efficient and friendly staff plus price is good. They serve typical Chilean sandwich. I strongly recommend this place!

Simple, nothing fancy, great place for sandwich, and what a sandwich absolute delight. Visited this place 3 times in the past 4 years, absolutely great experience. Nothing place from outside lots of locals, waiting line during rush hour but worth the wait. This is one of the places in Santiago as a must, as long as you can appreciate simple... More

Outstanding ! If you are in Santiago you must go there ! best to have it with a beer and I would leave out the avocado as it takes overt the whole taste.

Why I try to review this place over and over is a good question. Maybe to give it a chance of dropping the ball, which has not happened in 5 years. Consistently it delivers a wonderful experience of a local restaurant that would be there even if no tourist ever showed up in Santiago. Neli was again perfect and the... More

OK, stop going to Patio Bellavista and buying Western cuisine, quasi-French/Italian, and pizzas and hamburgers! Don't you dare go to MacDonald's or those lousy KFCs and all the American trash food everywhere! Go to Fuente Alemana and get the best sandwich, and in the rich tradition of Chile. Yes, if you are American, or don't speak Chilean, this is a... More

I would not recommend this place at all. First of all when we walked in every worker just stood there staring at us not saying a word, the lady at the front register just sat there on her phone not even acknowledging us, and this was early in the morning when there was only one other person in the restaurant.... I had visited this location once 3.5 years ago on a previous visit to Santiago and loved my lomito completo. Craving it again based on those fond memories, I knew I had to stop in despite being in Santiago only 36 hours. Unfortunately, Fuente Alemana is closed on Sundays, so after a full day of working, with only a few... More
