This place rocks, what can I say. I was the whitest, and oldest guy in there for sure, but I love metal and hard rock (and I date back to Beach Boys days LOL) I walked in about 7 PM and there was one guy on stage playing acoustic guitar, and I thought, uh oh, wrong place for me. How... More

La Barraca was our harbour in Cuenca: Even when all other Pubs and Bars was closed (e.g. on Christmas Eve) Barraca was open. In the three weeks we stayed in Cuenca, we visit La Barraca for a beer or two serveral times. Two time there where also concerts of local and other Ecuadorian Rock Bands. And the music was great... good food and good music. Happy hour from 14:00 - 21:00. It's a really nice little restaurant in the centre of Cuenta, food is simple but fine, music: hard rock :-)

This place doesn't look fancy but the food is great with a touch of Belgian cuisine to it. The music is loud but good, mostly old popsongs. The owner is very nice and will make you feel at home. Great place to spend a few hours at night.

This restaurant happened to be close to the Hotel I was staying at, so upon spotting it, and having a (2011) tripadvisor sticker attached to its door, inspired me to check the reviews. This done, I decided to give it a try. Upon entry, you get an almost immediate sense of disorientation, with corridors leading in a multitude of directions.... More

This apparent hole in the wall is bigger on the inside, and the same can be said for the menu. An unusual item is "stoofvlees" (pronounced stoaf-flace), a Dutch/Belgian word meaning meat cooked in beer. Hearty and delicious with home-made roasted papas to soak up the sauce. The Casa spaghetti was beautifully cooked with a "carne" sauce with lots of... More

If you're in Cuenca and looking for a place to sit and chat over a drink, or have dinner, you should check this place out! I first went there with a big group from my Spanish school for drinks and appetizers one evening. A few friends and I stayed for dinner and we were so glad we did. The tortilla... More
