I like supporting small businesses. The staff at Nucallacta always greet you with a smile! Their breakfasts are outstanding and their carrot cake TO DIE FOR. Coffee is freshly roasted and ground. I go there as often as I can! The only downside is that they close earlier than most places, so be sure to get there before 6pm!

Stopped here for a snack when I realized the museum down the street was closed, and I had some great coffee and a brownie. I was really tempted to try some of their meals from the menu- next time for sure if I visit Cuenca again.

This is a little spot that we visited the first day in Cuenca. Soup was OK, but the quesadilla was especially good.

Cafe Nucallacta has moved a couple of times, each location getting better. They are currently located on a fairly quiet end of Hermano Miguel, near Calle Larga. The coffee shop looks small from the outside, but they have a beautiful courtyard that is (mostly) sheltered from the weather. It provides a serene stop for those who want to enjoy a... More

I love to stop in to Cafe de Nucallacta when I'm walking in El Centra and have a coffee to give me energy. They also have a wonderful menu full of delicious fresh foods.

I've been to several places in Cuenca for a coffee and Cafe de Nucallacta is by far the best place to go.

Nice little cafe serving fresh and delicious coffee and super yummy chocolate chip cookies. Based on the other reviews, we also tried the carrot cake which was good, but to us the star was the cookie together with the coffee.

Went to this gem with a bunch of people for brunch and had everyone was very pleased! Delicious coffee, lots of tasty options (including almond milk which is rare in Ecuador!) and everyone really enjoyed our breaky. The pancakes were absolutely delicious and the hash browns also a must try! The lunch menu also looks amazing! They also catered to... More

Enjoyed good coffee and excellent carrot cake here first visit and then an amazing brownie and cream cake piece shared between us. Too many gringos is only complaint -- in fact probably ALL the customers were gringos when we were there.

It was late morning and in need of a pick-me-up, we decided to try what we'd read was the best coffee in Cuenca. We were not disappointed. I had the frokuccino (iced coffee-chocolate smoothie concoction with chocolate chips on top) and my wife had an iced coffee. Both were delicious and fulfilled our need for caffeine. We so enjoyed our... More
