This little restaurant offers fun and good food. We, of course, were there for Peruvian food and the famous Guinea pig. Our waiter was the owner and he was great at explaining the dishes. We asked for the Guinea pig upon sitting down at table....This was because they roasted the Guinea pig some time in oven and this allowed us to enjoy pre dinner drinks. And choose more from menu. The Guinea pig comes out on a plate with a fun hat and decorations. We had good laughs getting pictures etc. three of the four of us tried the Guinea pig. But the other meals were delicious . We got some house drink that was flavorful and was a family recipe. Overall a great evening of Peruvian customs and eats.More

The guy who runs the restaurant is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. The guinea pig was awesome and the presentation was fenominal!

I ordered Cuy al horno and it was worth the 45min wait. Usually when I walk into a quiet place I'm skeptical but this place is a bit off the main square and people don't see it right away, plus this was a week night....He explained that places that make it for you right away don't do the skin right, and any expert would agree. He also explained how it's traditionally eaten with hands. Lester is smart and friendly. I was really full after that meal. If it's your first guinea pig, try it roasted before fried.More

This was without a doubt the best dining experience I had in Cusco. Not only was the food outstanding (the cuy was extraordinary and the accompaniments surprisingly tasty - a testament to the attention they give to every part of the meal), the owner made...me feel so welcome. This is a multi-generational family restaurant and I really felt the cozy, family atmosphere - so different from most of the tourist haunts around Plaza de Armas. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!More

Only a few minutes walk from Plaza de Armas. Restaurant is spacious yet cozy. Owners are welcoming and speak good English. The Cuy is freshly roasted and tastes delicious. Grilled trout is so yummy that kids finished all before the next dish is served.

A bit of a hidden pearl. The place itself is inviting, with a choice selection of Latin music and decor. The staff were entertaining, welcoming and funny. The food itself was delicious - but beware, the portions are big. You'll have to make up your...own mind when it comes to the guinea pig. For me, it was a strange experience. The staff explained a lot about the cuy as a traditional dish, and gave us a complementary shot to pair - on the house! Lovely visit, would come backMore

A great family run restaurant where you will be treated like family, with everyone making you feel right at home. Just off the Plaza on a quieter street, this place is the opposite of the main square places with all the touts and mediocre food...at high prices. Here, you'll find excellent prices for amazing food, with a touch of caring. Went here almost daily when in Cusco. A very picky friend who barely liked any food anywhere else because she thought her mom made the best food, after numerous restaurants, tried the soup here and said: it's a good as anything my mom makes. Only place she really liked. Another time, we were feeling a bit unwell one day and the owner modified the dishes so the food would be better for us. Best treatment anywhere. Would return to Cusco just to visit this place again. Big thanks to Ernesto and Leslie for everything!More

We went here several times during our trip to Cusco, and it was wonderful. The owner is an extremely friendly and welcoming host, and was very helpful, attentive, and honest. You should be aware going into it that the menu may be limited due to...reduced demand during the pandemic. He told us that they are only getting, for example, 3-4 trout every day, so just realize that you might not be able to order certain dishes based on demand/time of day. But on the upside, that means that the food is all extremely fresh, as it is prepared daily and to-order. We had a variety of classic Peruvian dishes, and they were all fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Cusco, wether a couple, or large family group, as this is a great setting that can accommodate all kinds of visitors.More

We actually initially passed the owner up on his offer to sit and eat, as we passed him in the street, because we sought a different specific restaurant, only to find the other spot closed. So we doubled back and took the man up on...his offer, he welcomed us inside and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. Tried the tamales (so FLUFFY, yum!), chicken soup, alpaca steak, and of course it being our first full day in town we enjoyed some coca tea. I wanted to try cuy but not this time, in case I didn't like it and i would have this huge dish :-) Based on other reviews I may go back for it though! Owner/waiter was immensely friendly and eager to please. Some menu items not available daily due to pandemic slowed down the restaurant industry's food supply and limits their options. Example, we couldn't have guacamole that day due to no good avocados. And if I wanted trout ceviche I'd have to wait for the next day. We took his suggestions on food to try and were extremely satisfied. Great prices too. Some locals were visiting the bar during our visit, laughing and having a good time and ended up dancing, it was a very festive and cheerful atmosphere. Tasteful decor throughout, not too shabby at all! The hospitality was top notch and we could find no reason not to recommend this restaurant to anybody else!More
