Visited La Gloria for the first time after some good Peruvian Friends recommended the restaurant, good little bar, good pisco sours, moved to restaurant and had the plate of the day (lamb with green salad) followed by the local classic desert Suspiro de Limena, food was fresh, well cooked, lacked a little pizzaz and was overpriced compared to her competition... This is a classic, and well-established restaurant in the city of Lima. This is very highly rated among locals who consider their food and quality of ingredients as superb (if you had a Lima people only tripadvisor it would be in the top five in the city). It is not as popular with tourists but all locals swear by the... More

Ate here last night for a business dinner and what a treat. The decor is beautiful and the food was as appealing to the eye as it was to my tastebuds. I highly recommend the tuna tartare, scallop appetizer and grilled octopus. For the main course, the paella was plentiful and cooked perfectly. This is clearly where the well dressed... More

Another place in Peru with very above average food! It's impressive how well you can eat in peru and this place it´s not the exception. Try el "Cochinillo" its cooked at its point, very squisy meat!

Traditional place where the service and the food are exceptional. The Tuna Tartar and the Chita a las Brasas are extraordinary. One of the places to visit. The restaurant is not big, so making reservation is important.

Is a high end restaurant, small and crouded, not very appropiate fro a romantic dinner though. I had there the best kidneys I've ever had!

Supermellowman is right on with his review. There is nothing WRONG with this restaurant. So why is it so uninspiring? The food was exquisitely prepared, the portion sizes were just right,, the service was good. But is just not innovative and fun. The plates didn't have color or a "wow" presentation. They didn't entice you with the explanation of the... More

Amazing ceviche! My wife had a pisco sour and it also was amazing. This was AFTER having a full blown dinner at an Italian joint!

My Spanish is limited, but they could speak a little English. The two salads with goat cheese had great taste, but you would need a magnifying lens to see the smoked salmon. There is a table setup charge. The wine was barely drinkable. The deserts had great presentation and taste. I did not feel welcome or appreciated as a customer... More
