Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had aji de gallina, wife had lomo saltado. Both were delicious. We were there early afternoon, thus not so crowded. There is a creek behind the restaurant, not pretty to look out but the rushing water is peaceful. Service was just right. After we...left, we walked up the hill to the town square. My wife had left her sweater at the table. Our server came running up the hill, panting, "Hola, your sweater, madam." Now that is service!More

My first experience with guinea pig, which is a specialty. Good eats off the river and I was especially impressed with the presentation of the fresh juices which were garnished with small flowers.

Location on the River, service was friendly and helpful, the meal was so much more than I expected. Very well priced for the quality. Cannot recommend more strongly. I had the Causita a Cevichada… wow!

Excellent food and presentation. I had the oven-rooasted guinea pig, and my husband had the alpaca loin. We both tried each others' dishes to sample the local cuisine. I'd never had guinea pig before but they made it delicious - if it had one tiny...flaw it would be that I maybe expected it to be crispier (they advertise it as "very crunchy" - but I couldn't fault the taste of the pig and the really nice sides that came with it. One of the servers gave us a free shot of matacuy at the end - thanks!More

After a great morning of touring, our amazing guide, Fermin, took us for lunch at Mawic. The quality and quantity of food was astounding. Chef William outdid himself. The wait staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Perfect place for a great meal.

Very pleasant meal, friendly and attentive staff with nice views from the dinning room. We both had beef, the saltado and a steak, which were delicious and good value at 47 sols each. The bill with a bottle of water and two glasses of wine...came to 154 sols.More

If I were rating for myself, I'd give this 5 stars, but my husband found his beef/ribs to be grisly, and didn't love his drink. I very much enjoyed the Alpaca gargonzola and thought my mojito was outstanding. The atmosphere of this restaurant was very...enjoyable, and our server was friendly.More

We loved the Chupín de Quinoa soup so much that we came back just for that. A delicious vegetarian option, it was very hearty and complex, more like a meal, and beautifully presented.

This was a surprise in Ollantaytambo... and a VERY VERY good one. You will never imagine finding so much sophistication in such a little town.... the chef William and his wife Mariela will take care of you and your party while they will delighted with...unique combinations of local ingredients magically combined with a lot of creativity... For the starters, suggest that you ask them for suggestions... do not go with whatever is in the Menu, but listen to what William can offer you that precise day with the most fresh ingredients... you will not be disappointed... For main, I tried the Duck and it was outstanding... Highly recommended, and a great mix of service and high quality foodMore

I stayed longer than planned in Ollantaytambo due to the riots of December 2022. This small town is normally a passing town to reach Machu Picchu. Most of the people stay max. two nights here without exploring it much. I was lucky to find this...place owned by a well rounded professional chef. I am not exaggerating to tell you that this was one of the best culinary experiences I‘ve ever had. I can't recommend this place enough!More
