We went based on a trip adviser recommendation for vegan options in Papeete. All diners (vegan and non vegan) were very happy with the selection, quality of food, atmosphere and friendliness of staff. Great place for a fine dining experience.

This is a quiet restaurant with excellent, attentive service and unexpectedly delicious meals. The menu is not extensive, but provides options for vegetarians, and there is a good selection of wines

We wouldn't have entertained the idea of eating here but guests from Texas insisted it was fine dining that was consistently delicious. Three of us went for lunch and enjoyed a foie gras appetizer that really was a app, main, and desert on one plate. The knuckle and fish dishes were equally delicious. You won't be disappoint in the food.... More

We ate at the Le Velvet a number of times during our recent stay in Papeete and were very pleased each time. Most of our meals were for breakfast which was always a nice way to begin the day. I enjoyed the continental breakfast which included juices, coffee, plenty of fresh fruits, sweet rolls, toast, cereal and pancakes. On two... More

What a fabulous fusion of French and Tahitian food. Very creative menu, excellent wine choices (including several half bottles - perfect for those dining alone or when sleep is not on the itinerary in the afternoon!) It bothered us not that it is the same menu for lunch and dinner as there were plenty of options available for either meat,... More

I ordered the famous first course , the raviolis of foie gras and for the main course I had theduck and it... More

We were staying at Hotel Tahiti Nui for the Easter holiday and all restaurants were closed in the nearby area. We decided to eat at Le Velvet - what a pleasant surprise! We really enjoyed the food here. Service was efficient. We had the filet and lamb. Both were amazing. Great French cuisine in Papeete.

I had dinner prior to going to the airport. It was expensive but the presentation was excellent and the servers were very well trained. In fact, I felt like it was almost a training school for servers. I had the special Mahi dish and two of the three pieces tasted great, with the third one being off a little so... More

The food and wine was a real disaster. I was very surprised by the lack of quality. This is definitely not a gastronomic restaurant. It's pretty much like a canteen, nothing fancy. I expected much more...

We stayed at the Hotel Tahiti Nui for three nights and ended up eating in the restaurant on two nights. We found the food great and the service was good. On the second night the poor lady running the restaurant had underestimated how busy it would be on Good Friday (as a lot of other places were closed) now taking... More
