When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disgusting! Ignoble pour nos amis français. Just don't go there, the food has no taste and the service is too long. And it's expensive!

We visited the place on Christmas Eve, after calling in and reserving a place for 7. When we started ordering, 3 out of 5 were unavailable (of all starters, first and main course options), which was not previously notified on the phone. We ended up...eating bread with mix of cheeses, two horrible type of pastas, an undercooked rosnica and cow meat (not veal). An overall horrible experienceMore

Having looked forward to Albanian progressive and inspiring cuisine we were very disappointed to find that the tasting menu was not available along with many dishes and that the meal I got ended up consisting 95 percent of meat. This was cooked alright - but...a meal with one component is not really a meal.More

I have been in Europe for 6 weeks, half of that time in Italy, and this was one of the best meals I have had on this trip. When you consider the cost of around US$30 for the Chef’s Tasting Menu, it was possibly the...best value fine dining experience I have EVER had. Using only the finest local ingredients, the Chef has created a meal where every course was interesting, innovative, and incredibly flavorful. Service by my friendly, informative English speaking waiter was likewise excellent. Highly recommend.More

I regret having to say that the restaurant was disappointing. We expected traditional cuisine with a fresh twist. We definitely did not expect Noma's sophistication although the chef apparently worked there. We tried to reserve by email, but did not get any answer. We eventually...reserved by phone the day of our arrival and got a table. 4 of us ordered the menu, the fifth à la carte. Every single course lacked taste and refinement and had strange texture, in particular the quail which was not edible. None of the courses from the menu came with an explanation. We sticked to bread.More

Regional food in a modern way, that’s what we found in this place. Knowing where the products come from and bring it together, that’s the concept of this unique restaurant. If you are in Tirana - it is a must to go there. Maybe you...try the metamorfoza 🤩👍More

My second visit to Mullixhiu was not nearly as good as the first one back in December 2022. I wanted to take my mother and partner there because my previous experience had been so enjoyable, but this time was a major letdown. The food was...quite bland, lacking many of the spices that made the dishes so memorable. Even my favorite dish, the "fli," was not prepared in the same way, lacking the crispiness and flavor I had come to expect. I'm not sure if they changed chefs, but something had definitely changed. The waitstaff, while extremely friendly and professional, seemed overwhelmed with too many tables to attend to, and this affected the service. We had opted for the set menu, but all the dishes arrived one after the other far too quickly, and I had to request a break at one point. The music wasn't as soothing as it had been during my first visit when they played old Albanian music, and the restaurant felt cold. Initially, I thought it was because the door leading outside was open, but it may have been due to the air conditioning. In any case, we had to drape our coats over our shoulders, and we weren't the only ones doing so. It was a big disappointment...More

We were really looking forward to our meal. We had saved it as a special treat. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The wine was delicious and the starters fare quality. When we ordered we asked for advice and were told 2 meat dishes with vegetables was...a good option. What we got delivered to our table were two huge portions of meat on cold plates followed 10 minutes later by half a baked potato, one boiled carrot and some boiled aubergine. There was 5x the amount of meat to anything else and everything was cold. There was no sauce, no flavour. Maybe we ordered badly but we did ask the staff to advise. I have genuinely never considered going vegetarian before but this was overwhelming and not at all pleasant to eat. I am really sad as I was hoping for something really special. Other tables seemed to order differently and their meals looked more enjoyable and balancedMore

Absolutely vomitous food. Disgusting. My friend and I shared a salad, we threw out the meatballs as they were revolting, the quail looked tortured and utterly disgusting and we dare not eat that, and we left the other two mains. We complained, and left without...paying a dollar, which is something. We wasted 1.5 hours at this restaurant, and weren't able to go anywhere else, leaving very hungry. DISGUSTING.More

This place seems to be dining out, if you’ll excuse the pun, on some publicity from the time it opened. Something dramatic has happened since then - not in a positive way - and we wish we had read the recent reviews before wasting an...evening here. There was no record of our booking. The sole waiter/ maitre d didn’t care though and we sat outside. And waited. We didn’t go for the tasting menu because the couple on the next table had already been there for hours and were only half way through. The place was totally overwhelmed, there was only one staff member, he was clearly pissed off and having a bad time and so was everyone else eating there. One table walking out described their experience as ‘hours of paid for torture’ which felt a bit extreme. Eventually we ordered. Starters were over cooked, tired and looked like they had sat around for a couple of days. Mains were a disaster. We ordered beef cheeks and baby goat and what emerged from the kitchen were bits of unidentifiable chewy meat with no sides and no sauces. It looked like something you’d get in prison, but in prison you wouldn’t pay EUR15 a plate. We looked up wistfully at the Burger King sign hanging above the terrace, and wished we had dined upstairs instead… Finally we joined a queue of 5 other tables at the cash desk to pay. Any hint of waiter service had disappeared by this time. Money was taken without a word. Presumably the guy was embarrassed by the whole thing. I’ve had some bad meals in travels around the world, but taking into account the price I’m going to make a big call: this is the worst meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant in my life. This restaurant deserves to be called out for what it is: a rip off that is bordering on a scam.More

Such potential wasted. A cozy, rustic decor fails to deliver on the food and service front. Greasy and tasteless batter coated meatballs, the roast goat was tender enough, but the veal chop was as tough as old goat. Very average house white served at room...temperature. Albanian wine can be delicious, this was not. Completely lacking in charm or atmosphere. Unfriendly serving staff just doing their job with little enthusiasm. Overpriced for what it offers and Tirana offers a great deal more elsewhere.More

It is hard to imagine a more special dining experience than the one we had here on our first night in Albania / Tirana. We felt so welcomed and cared for, not only by the incredible service, but the deliberate, genuine and warm atmosphere of...this space. The design of the dining room is inspired, thoughtful enough to feel high end but not intimidating. Our server was so kind to us, we trusted his recommendations and were so happy with our dishes - beautiful ingredients totally honored and humble, kind engaging service. A totally guest focused experience and a meal we won’t forget soon - so truly special.More

This place is often described as 'the best restaurant in Tirana' and it was very nice indeed. The food was VERY tasty, the ambiance is super traditional ( a little too much some may argue, with traditional music blasting in the speakers during the entire...lunch) and service was extremely professional and polite. The flia and stuffed zucchini leaves were absolutely delicious, albeit super fatty. We skipped breakfast before going there and didn't regret it one second.More

In our search for fine dining experiences in the Balkans we came across Mullixhiu and after looking at their top-notch webpsite we had no doubts - we had to pay them a visit! So we planned our trip around it and chose to spend a...night in Tirana, although, we had no intensions of doing that in the first place. Boy, was it not worth it... We had the tasting menu and only one of the dishes had some flavour. Never have we ever eaten such a bland meal... Even their bread, which they claim being a signature thing for the restaurant, was so, so dry. We asked for a matching wine menu, and the waiter agreed but ended up just serving a jug of average white wine. On top of that, the electricity - and the aircondition - cut off all the time, leaving the temperature in the restaurant unbearable! There was no doubt staff was very stressed about it as well - the whole restaurant knew as they were having full-on arguments in front of the guest. We have no doubts that the chefs behind the restaurant have ambitions, however, they just cannot live up to the image they have created on their website.More

I really don’t understand the good reviews here. We visited Tirana from London and booked into Mullixhiu for our last night in Albania. Although there are some terrible reviews, the majority outweighed them and we decided to book in. We were hoping to have the...tasting menu but it wasn’t available when we got there (our reservation was at 21.45 so fair enough, but would be good to have been told on booking). Service was slow, we were sat and didn’t get menus/water for 15 mins. When we did we got a nice bottle of wine, and ordered the zucchini flowers, a pasta dish to come as a starter and both ordered beef cheeks as main. The bread arrived and was stale, inedible, rock hard! The zucchini flowers were a tad salty but tasty. The pasta didn’t arrive for another 45 mins (it was fine but very bland and over cooked) and did so 5 mins before our mains. We were mortified to find that our beef cheeks were actually grey slices on boiled tongue. A delicacy to some, maybe, but not what we had ordered… when we flagged to the waiter, he went to the kitchen and one of the chefs came out after about ten minutes to explain ‘the tongue is connected to the cheek, so it all gets mixed up’. I can tell you for free, there was certainly no cheek mixed into our slices of tongue. We were appalled at the service and standard of food. What a way to treat guests. Avoid this place, despite its gorgeous decor and go and eat at one of Tirana’s other lovely restaurants!More

No chips and pizza as i remember, but probably they can handle all guests. On the basis of their locally made bread everything is doable I believe. Suggest to contact them in advance.
