Boban in Zagreb delivered a satisfying dining experience, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
I ordered the Black Tagliatelle with Octopus, and it was very tasty. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the octopus was tender and flavorful, making for a dish that was both delicious and memorable. The combination of flavors really hit the mark, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
The interior of the restaurant is quite classy, with a refined atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. The service was good, with the staff being attentive and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

For me, personally, it is a perfect combination of delicious food (it is an Italian restaurant and I love me some pasta), best in class service and reasonably attractive price. Stands out from competition. There are also meat and fish dishes which are also really delicious. Staff is really great, and prices are shuch that, okay you will pay about 5€/person more compared to other restaurants in the city center, but my personal experience is that it is definitely worth it! I am a regular at Boban!

Wonderful experience. Excellent food and friendly, attentive service. Asked the server for recommendations and he suggested linguini in white truffle sauce and Rustica. Both were delicious. There is seating in a garden setting and on the patio as well as inside. We sat on the patio and loved it.

I was so excited to visit this restaurant, but the experience was disappointing. The waiter was visibly annoyed with every question about the menu, rolling his eyes constantly. The food was nothing special. The kids' lasagna looked unappetizing, like it had been chewed and spit out. The risotto with prawns had tiny, flavorless shrimp. The salmon was decent, and the beef carpaccio was passable. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.

We were staying in an air BnB just opposite so we very much wanted to eat here. They have a very busy outdoor terrace and a well laid out indoor space.
The food was really great. Fresh, upmarket Italian and of course well presented . We were surprised by the wine choices by the glass. The one we were recommended was not to our taste and we were pretty curly told that nothing else would suit the fish we were eating.
Service was good but not overly attentive. Getting the bill was a bit slow. However I would certainly recommend it for the quality of the food alone.

Boban is located in the middle of Zagreb's center in a dreamy side street. Young, charming staff will accompany you through the culinary evening and you will not be disappointed. Here, the kitchen is perfectly mastered and the dishes are professionally mixed between fish and meat. Excellent local wines as well as local and Czech beer will spoil you. Beautiful courtyard and outdoor seating area for those who sit outside. One of the most beautiful and trendy restaurants with a bar in Zagreb. Simply cool and delicious.

I have already eaten in this restaurant several times, every time we come to Zagreb we try to come here because it is a great experience. Central location a stone's throw from Trg Bana Jelaćića, modern and refined environment, menu full of Italian and international dishes with attention to detail with refined ingredients. I had agnolotti stuffed with sea bass and lemon sauce, very good and delicate, my wife and daughter had black tagliolini with cherry tomatoes and octopus, my little son had the children's menu with a tomato cream soup, chicken breast and chips. The desserts are also very good. Reasonable prices for the location and the quality of the food.

Wonderfully located and charming, we sat outside to enjoy our meal. Recommended to us by our college-age grandson when he visited Boban from Denmark, we were not disappointed. My husband had a pasta with mushrooms dish and I had salmon with an "envelope" of ricotta and spinach. I wish I could remember what wine we had...but it was delicious enough that I forget!
I also returned the next day for a salad lunch, after touring Upper Town. It is a cozy and welcoming restaurant.

We ate here Friday 9th September around 2pm.
Service was terrible. Waiter was rude and impatient.
Then spoke in Croatian to his colleague and laughed at us. Little did they know we spoke Croatian and understood what they said 🙄
I ordered chicken it was hard as a rock and flavourless.
All the sides had to be ordered.
We were not told about the wine list we had to ask.
When we asked for house white the waiter snapped at my mother saying which one? White which one?
We ate in taverns in pazin and labin, Ucka and they gave us incredible service.
Please do not judge Croatian service by this restaurant.
This restaurant is bad.
Having eaten in a true Michelin star restaurant (lake house australia and the smallest taverns pazin and around Istria this was the worst ever.
Also if you ever need to complain about a restaurant in Croatia they have a book that you can make a complaint in.
They are in every restaurant and they are assessed by like a governing food body it is taken very seriously . I was only told about this after I shared my experience with my Croatian friend. .
They emailed me to apology which was totally supporting the waiter! Plus suggested it was not to my taste? How hard is it to make a chicken dish that’s moist. I was not asking for Weiner schnitzel which I was better off ordering from another venue!

This used to be nice, friendly and welcoming restaurant but not any more. I’ve been coming to Boban for years, almost every time I came home for a visit, and never had an experience where they were unwilling to accommodate for any dietary requirements, yet today after trying to order several dishes the chef was not willing to make a change despite me being allergic, to the extent of not wanting to remove a vegetable from grilled vegetables, even though I was not asking for it to be replaced just removed. I was also not offered any assistance to find something that would be suitable. So I had a glass of water while my friend had her lunch, we did not want to fallow their path and be rude, and cancel her order or order of drinks. When I asked for an explanation of why it was not possible to just not put one sort of vegetable on a plate, and it could of been bind for all I cared, I was told that they have exact number od portions and that the chef does not want to make any changes. Makes no sense as I was not asking for replacement or for a special way of cooking a complex main dish. And only then I was given a sort of apology, that was just before we asked for a bill. So they completely ignored me and could not care less about anything. Nobody even approached and asked my fried if her food was ok. Very disappointing, the attitude and the service from the chef and the staff. They should really write somewhere our chef does not welcome people with allergies or any dietary requirements. Such a disappointment after years of loyalty. Do not recommend at all. I would give zero if it was an option. But the water was nice.

If former top footballer Boban owns a restaurant, the bar is set high.
First of all, the place is really big and therefore relatively loud. If that doesn't bother you, then you're in the right place. The menu is well-stocked and very good. The food is freshly cooked, I would describe the cuisine as Croatian-European. Whether it's pasta, fish or classic beef, everything is great.
The only thing that needs to be improved is the relatively long waiting times. Otherwise, it's fine.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.

It is definitely noticeable that this restaurant is trying to present itself as fine dining.
The service in this regard is good; the staff is attentive and polite. Additionally, the restaurant is nicely filled, and the atmosphere is pleasant.
However, what is most important is the food - and the food definitely does not meet expectations. The meat was unseasoned, and the dishes were overall quite bland. The food certainly does not justify the price and is rather average, although it is somewhat nicely presented.
I would not recommend this restaurant for a gastronomic experience, perhaps only for a drink in a pleasant atmosphere.

Deserved Michelin Star, and also amazing dishes, drinks, atmosphere, attention... everything I can say is little...excellent prices. At first you are scared because it is a Michelin Star Restaurant, but when you see the prices on the menu...they are very good compared to those of any simple restaurant in Zagreb but obviously, without all the details of a Mr. Restaurant. I recommend it if you are in this beautiful city, it is located 80 meters from the Main Square of Zagreb. Do not miss it. It was 2 times!

We weren't very hungry, we walked by, and I remembered that I had seen good reviews about this restaurant, and we went up to find out if we could have dinner. The administrator said that there was a possibility of sitting down in 20 minutes, and we decided to wait, and did not regret it.
There were four of us and we all ordered different dishes. Everyone really enjoyed it, the food was delicious.

Most disappointing dinning experience in Croatia. The food wuality snd portions were below average; but the price were astronomically inflated. This used to be a first class restaurant, NOT ANY MORE. We will never go there again
I wonder if Boban us aware of what is happening in his restaurant.
