My absolute favourite restaurant in Chisinău

1) The restaurant has a minimalist but classy decoration that I absolutely loved! I loved the color pallet and the fact that the flowers on the table matched the flowers on the wall. The ambience music was also so relaxing but hyped. All the details were perfect! 2) the food was absolutely divine! I had a delicious bread with truffle butter, pinot Grigio wine, tuna tacos with a delicious sauce (mango, passion fruit and raspberry) and the main course was a baked salmon that left me so glad I came here! 3) the location is absolutely fantastic and it is so easy to reach the restaurant I couldn’t recommend it more! You are truly missing out if you don’t visit it ☺️

Excellent place with great wine, delicious desert and nice fine dinning

I had the best wine in my life while visiting Atypic. Would have not known about this brand if not recommended by the waiter. It was Rara Neagra from Mircesti Winery. The location of the restaurant is very central and easy to get to. The ambiance of the place is also very nice, relaxing, with nice music. The service was impeccable; the young lady who served me was prompt and always checked if my expectations were met. Now, I would rate the food 3/5, but this might be due to the fact that I order squid, which is not locally produced. However, I rate the desert 5/5; it has an excellent blend and mix of flavors and looked amazing. I would say it is very affordable fine dinning experience, with dinner including wine and dessert costing around 25 EUR.

I dined here in December and it was quite average, this time was much better. I had fish, sea bass I believe, and this was a well executed dish and perfectly cooked. Dessert was less food, although visually pleasing the combination of flavours didn’t work and it was too dry.

Unpleasant Experience

It was the most unpleasant experience of my life. We sat down for breakfast at 10:30. When they informed us that the table we were sitting at had a reservation for 12:00, we agreed to wait until then, even though the venue was empty apart from our table. We placed our orders, but our friend's order was served immediately. After waiting for 45 minutes for our 2 English breakfasts, we inquired, and the waiter admitted he had forgotten the order. He promised to check with the kitchen and get it prepared. Five minutes later, he returned, informing us that they were out of English breakfast. We settled for a French omelette. To our surprise, the waiter reminded us of the 12:00 reservation just 10 minutes after we received our food, even though the place was still empty, and the reserving customer wasn't present. It was a truly baffling situation. I will definitely not go to this place!

I chose Atypic to have breakfast while enjoying a coffee and it truly exceeded my expectations. The flavors blended together perfectly, and the mix between soft and crunchy textures really surprised me. The service was excellent, 10/10. The staff was really friendly, and the prices were pretty affordable. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in Chișinău!

After reading the reviews I really wanted to like this restaurant, but in the end I had a very average meal. I started with beef tartare, this was not great quality meat and it wasn’t seasoned correctly. For main I had squid and this was completely bland. I’d probably try this place again as beef tartare and squid are quite ambitious dishes which are dependent on good quality ingredients. Price wise, this restaurant is in the same bracket as Fuior, but the food doesn’t compare well at all. Excellent service.

Atypic Restaurant

I had the pleasure of trying a unique dessert at Atypic in Chișinău, made with goat cheese, and it was absolutely delicious! The combination of flavors was perfectly balanced. Everything was top-notch, from the food to the ambiance. The service was impeccable—friendly and professional. I highly recommend Atypic in Chișinău for anyone looking for a distinctive dining experience!

Very good food with some details

Very good food but not extraordinary The beef cheeks with risotto were amazing, the orzotto with mushrooms not so much. As expected, the portions are small. Good cocktails but with little alcohol We ordered a cheesecake but apparently it was disassembled, I never understood it The attention - as almost always in Moldova - was extraordinary and the place is very beautiful

I enjoyed a delicious duck with celery, perfectly paired with a glass of wine. Even though it was raining outside, the warm atmosphere inside made the meal even more enjoyable. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, adding a special touch to the whole experience. Highly recommend visiting

Service was super no question about that. Concerning the food, the appetisers were nice. My main concerns were the steak was really nothing special at all as the quality of the beef needs improving. Another issue at this restaurant is that you cannot smoke at the table even though the seating is outside.

The food is absolutely delicious, the best I ever tried. The service was good, even if they were closing at 15:00 on 31 of Decembers, they waited for us 20 min more to finish (we arrived at 14:10).
